Should junk food be banned from schools?
In recent years, schools have started to put forth an effort to be a cleaner, healthier environment. A big topic that has been up in the air recently is if schools should ban selling junk food. This would mean that vending machines would be completely gone or only have healthier alternatives like fruit for example. This would also most likely mean that ala cart options would be significantly decreased.
In recent years, childhood obesity has been dangerously on the rise. In 2018, it was reported that over 14 million minors were extremely obese. Obesity is a very serious disease. It can cause high blood pressure, type two diabetes, strokes, heart attacks, and other dangerous things. People are looking for solutions to help cut back on this and some think that cutting junk food options in schools is the way to go.
Personally, I don't think that it would help if schools weren’t allowed to sell junk food. I believe that if someone is going to eat junk food, they’ll eat it. If not at school then just at home. I think if people really want to lower childhood obesity they should promote more physical activity instead. I think that kids should be taught how to have a balanced lifestyle between healthy food, unhealthy food, and physical activity.
Do you think that banning schools from selling junk food will make people healthier?
Why or Why Not?
Do you bring/eat “junk food” at school?

Good topic choice(+5) and good job overall Violet! I do think your sumary is a bit brief and be sure to comment on three different days.
I don't really think taking away the junk food is the way to solve the problem. When kids transition to the real world, they will realize that there is junk food all around them. They have to make the decision on whether or not they will choose it. I think it is important to clarify what foods are healthy and not healthy and also the disadvantages.
I don't think that junk food should be banned from schools because I really don't think that will change the student's health since they could just eat junk food when they get home and I think most students would just start bringing their own.
I don't think that junk food should be banned I think that everyone for themselves most people no how much and what they should eat if they wan't to be healty and have a healthy life. I think that everyone should have a choice wether to eat junk food or not.
I don't think that junk food should be banned from the schedule because school food tastes like piosen either way and if we eat junk food it won't be worse than the other food. I also think that allot of students will quit eating school lunch if junk food gets banned.
I don't think that banning schools from selling junk food would make people healthier. It would just make them bring their own lunch, which will contain junk food. I don't bring junk food to school, but I do eat a cookie everyday during lunch.
I think schools banning junk food would be pointless because kids would still bring it to school and eat it regardless of the rules. I don't bring junk food to school very often. Usually I don't bring food because I eat breakfast every morning before I go to school.
I don't think banning it is gonna do anything people bring it all of the time if it were banned they would bring it regardless. It wouldn't do anything except make students angry.
I don't think junk food should be banned from schools. Even if schools do make junk food banned, kids would still bring it and eat it. Many kids bring snacks for throughout the day, and it might effect them if they can't bring them anymore.
I think that schools should not ban junk food. I don't see it making much of a difference in the school. Unless they ban junk food from being brought into the school people will just bring it from home. I do bring some junk food into school but I think it's okay as long as it is in moderation.
