Should isasp test be issued at schools?
ISASP (Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress) was developed in 1935 and has been given to 3-11 grade students in the category of mathematics, reading, and biology. ISASP was developed to meet the requirements federal every student Success Act (ESSA). Witch is a U.S law passed in December 2015 to hold students accountable for how students learn and achieve.
ISASP is a state standardized test that mostly everybody took here recently and most people did not like taking it. I have heard teachers say that they don't like giving the ISASP test. I personally don't like ISASP testing and think that it should not be given at school. Some people might argue this and say isasp is good and that it is a way for teachers to see what you know and what you don't. People might also say that it is good because if people score high the school gets more state funding. I completely agree but I feel that our knowledge can be tested besides something other than a large state standardized test.
ISASP is a test that a lot of people get stressed over, including teachers and other school staff. Isasp gets teachers stressed because they have to initiate a full online test and technology doesn't always work the best. Teachers also have to make sure that there are no posters, pictures, or lettering on the walls that could help any student in any way. Isasp also stresses out students because there are 3-5 important tests that are in a week and if they don't score proficient then they lose more privileges when they get further on in high school. Isasp also stresses out other school staff like computer techs because during the testing a lot of things can go wrong with the computer or the app that ISASP is on.

Questions:
Do you think that ISASP should be administered?
What are some other ways the state can test our knowledge?
Do you think open campus should be based on ISASP?
Replies
I don't think they should be administraited I think they mean well but honestly I think they should not be required. I think they are meaning good by the school and by the state but I don't think they should be on the computer either.
I personally do not think that ISASP should be given. I understand that the state needs some way of seeing where the students are at, but I do no think that ISASP is the best way to do that. I think that there are many different ways that would better test the students. I think open campus should be based on GPA, rather than your preformance on ISASP.
I think that they should no be administerd. I think they are pointless and our school only dose them for goverment support. ISASP should not have to be taken because we can't even see how we do on the tests that we take. Half of the tests are over stuff we have not been learning.
ISASP has a great meaning to it but you have some students (like myself) that simply dont try on it because the fact it isnt graded, I think students are pushed a little harder not for our benefit but theres, the higher the scores from the students the higher the funding towards the school is. I dont think open campus should be based on ISASP simply because it's not a 100% accurate.
I agree and I think that if they are going to administer tests that there should be an incentive other than a cookie after an English class
I think that the idea of ISASP is good, but the only reason schools worry about it so much is for funding. The higher scores students get the higher funding the school gets, which is why it is "so important."
I agree i feel that school funding should not be based on what we know but should be based off of what the teachers teach and how the teachers teach it
Yes I do blive uder classmen should be advised totake these test so then that way teachers can get the idea of where the kid is at in their learning. I do feel that kids could show what they know in other ways rather than just testing, like as in thier home work or class work. I don't think ISAP's scores should be based on the kids open campus I think it should be based on thier grades throught the year.
I feel that instead of teachers getting our knowledge on ISASP that they could get our knowledge off of semester tests
