Recently, the school added a new rule permitting hats in the classroom (if the teacher allows) and around the school. As Mrs. Ring stated in her email, these hats can be anything from stocking hats, to baseball caps, but they all must be school appropriate. They also cannot be a distraction to anyone, and cannot impact our learning environment in the classroom. If a teacher decides that a hat shouldn’t be able to be worn, it will be treated like a dress code violation. The first offense would be a warning, the second would be a lunch detention, and the third would be a detention. If it continues, some students could lose their rights to wear hats.
In my opinion, I don’t think that people should be allowed to wear hats in school. The point of wearing baseball hats is to protect your eyes from the sun, so it doesn’t make sense to be wearing them inside. I think that these hats are going to start to be a big distraction, and I think that they could begin impacting our school more than they probably should. We will just have to see what happens with the hats at the end of the semester, and if they end up adding the rule to the handbook or not.
On the other hand, wearing hats makes some people feel more comfortable in the school setting. If someone has a bad hair day, a hat would be a good way to cover it up.
Do you think hats should be allowed in school?
Will you wear hats in the classroom?
Do you feel better wearing hats?

Good topic choice andf well done Addi! I do think your summary could be a bit longer. You could discuss where this idea of taking hats off indoors came from.
I think that hats in school are fine they don't seem like that big of a distraction to me. I will not wear hats in the classroom though because I don't like wearing hats that much. I don't think I feel better when I wear a hat.
Hats really aren't that big of a deal, so I definetly feel that it depends on the teacher. If one teacher allows hats and one does not it's not that big of a deal, just take the hat off. I think that it also wouldn't be a big deal to wear a hat during a study hall or a passing period.
I think that the hat rule should stay how it is. Many students like wearing hats and this rule will let them wear during parts of the day. I think that many students that wear hats should be grateful that they are allowed to wear a hat for some of the day. I don't think that I would ever wear a hat to school, but I am not really a hat person.
I think hats should be allowed because its just a hat, unless it has something bad on it it should be fine.
I don't see a problem with hats being worn as long as they follow the dress code. Before when it wasn't allowed it was just a problem for teachers because they would just constantly have to remind kids to take them off because they were just used to wearing them outside they forgot.
I think hats should be worn at school, it might be becuase its cold or showing their team spirt or just wear like wearing hats in general. But I dont know why teachers dont likle them, its not effecting them in any type of way.
I could see why people could be a little cold inside, but usually it isn't that cold that they have to wear hats in the classroom.
I think that it's fine to wear hats in school, some people may want it a part of there look. I sometimes wear hats inside, but generally if it's cold out and I don't want to take my hat off. Like you stated maybe it could make people feel more comfortable as well.
I personally think that hats should be allowed to be worn for all students during school. Although their hats would have to follow the dresscode, and are not a distraction to others and their learning. I currently wear hats in all of the classrooms that teachers allow you to wear them in, and during lunch.
