Since the start of having a justice legal system many crimes that people have commited haven't been regarded based off the offender's income.
People that are in upper class (wealth) and when charged with a crime they may not feel threatened based off their offense because they can easily pay for it. While the people with low-income being charged with a crime may not have enough to pay off the debt. While I can understand the legal system is trying to create an equal balance it may be beneficial to base the charges off of the person's income. The charges against somebody with a low-income may not impact a person with a hgiher income; therefore, it should be raised based off the person's income.
The impacts of raising the criminal charges based off a person's income would be that everyone would be able to afford the fines pressed onto them. This would make our economy more equal and fair. Raising the criminal charges would also help reduce criminal activity from the upper class because it'd be more difficult to evade. However, raising the amount of charges lacks consideration of circumstances. Day fines can reduce crimes because people in a welathier origin would have to pay more and could help influence people's behavior. While low-class criminals would be able to pay off their crimes more fairly.
Questions:
1. What are your thoughts on day fines?
2. Do you think fines should be based off a person's income?
3. Why or why not do you think day fines would be beneficial in our soicety?

Great topic choice and well done Victoria! It was posted a tad late.
I personally think that fines should be based on income in my opnion. I think this because then lower income people and higher income people would be affected in the same way. For instance twenty dollars would affect a person living in poverty a lot more rather than a person living in a mansion. This would make it more fair for both groups.
I don't think that they should be based on income because, if you did something wrong but you got a cheap fine, and someone else did something light but since they're rich they got a high fine its not fair because that one person did more damage but is being pardoned because of their income.
I dont think they should be made off income becuase the worst the problem is I feel like the higher the fine should be becuase its a more worse crime. Also someone could take advantage cuase they could just not work and do something bad and the fine just go off their income but if they have no job they cant go off that way and it might make their fine less money.
I agree that fines should be based on income so the upper class gets equal consequences, I also think that it would help with extreme debt for the lower classes. Less money is always going to cause more crime, and making the fines based on income it can ensure that they get consequences without so much debt that would encourage more crime.
I agree with what you said about how it will help reduce criminal activity when basing criminal charges and fines off of their income.
That is an interesting point to make, I could understand why day fines could be a bad thing because fines in general help others' pay
i think fines should be based off income it would make and equal power when coming to a crime. say someone was speeding to work one is rich one is not and the fine is $900 to someone who has money that wouldnt be a big deal but to someone who is barly scrapping by that would be a lot. i think day fines are a reagular thing that should be a thing in are government.
I agree that day fines would help grow our society and help expand the economy to make it easier for people to pay
I think fines should be based on income because for the rich they may not learn their lesson as well because they do not care if they have to spend a couple hundred bucks but for the lower class they might not have enough money to pay.
