We have all heard of people having exotic animals as pets, such as tigers, squirrel monkeys, foxes. But should owning and transporting an exotic animal really be legal in some states? Iowa laws say that you cannot possess, own, or breed any dangerous wild animal. The law defines exotics as non-domestic cats and dogs, bears, primates, numerous reptiles, and more.
There are a lot of reasons why you shouldn’t have an exotic animal as a pet. We can’t provide the kind of care that they need. Wild animals have complex behavioral, social, nutritional and psychological needs. Most people cannot meet the needs of wild animals kept as pets. Wild animals need to be with members of their own species.
Keeping wild animals as pets can be dangerous. Many can bite, scratch, and attack an owner, children, or guests. Animal owners can be legally responsible for any injuries or illnesses caused by animals they maintain. Finding new homes for large, hard-to-handle animals can be difficult, if not impossible, particularly since most zoos are unable to accept them.

I think it should be illegal to have exotic animals as pets because we cannot give them their necessities and it is also a risk to have them because most of them are wild animals that means they can attack you. It's true that we are killing their ecosystems so they don't have a place where they can live but having them in a house is not a solution. I think having an exotic animal as a pet doesn't have any pros.
I agree that keeping them in your home is not a replacment for their habitats.
I agree that wild animals are not pets! And no one should be allowed to have them as pets because it is to dangerous. Those animals maybe seem nice and handsome or most of the time maybe are but they are still wild and need their natur.
I think that people should be able to have exotic animals as pets as long as they keep them under control and properly feed, water, and care for them. I also think that it is very cool to have exotic pets because they are different then the average oet like a cat or dog.
I disagree about owning them but obviously there are going to be people that have them and I agree that they need to know how to keep them under control.
I don't think people should be able to keep exotic animals as pets because it can be harmful to the animal, owner, and others. I think exotic animals need to be with other animals and in an enviroment sutable for them. I don't think there are any pros to owning an exotic animal except for being able to say you have one.
