This is a statement from Fox News “Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont, has put his state's National Guard on alert, telling them to plan on active deployments to replace state workers he is set to cut from the payroll for refusing to comply with his COVID-19 vaccine mandate.” Governor Lamont stated "We have provided most state employees with the option to get tested weekly instead of getting vaccinated, providing more flexibility than our neighboring states. We have also provided our employees with a compliance grace period." stated Lamont.

Governor Ned Lamont put a law in place saying that in order to work you either need to get your vaccine or submit a negative test every week. 20,000 workers have already been vaccinated, 4,000 have started their first vaccine and 8,000 have decided not to follow the rule.

In my opinion, you should not have to get the shot in order to work unless you work with older people or young kids. It is against some peoples religions and beliefs. I also think that it is a waste of time and resources if we use the national guard to do the work for people that don't feel like working.

Do you think he should be replacing the workers with the National Guard?

Would you get vaccinated in order to keep your job?

  • Thomas,

Yout topic is fine but your summary is brief especially when your first paragraph is a quote. Focus more on your thoughts and opinions. Also be sure to comment more regularly and on three different days next time.

  • I do not think replacing workers with the National Gaurd will solve the problem. I don't think workers should be required to get the vaccination. It doesn't seem constitutionally accurate to make workers intake the covid vaccine. This is a hard situation, but I think I would consider finding a new job if someone was making me get the shot. Or I would at least hope to be able to peacefully fight against it.

  • No I dont think he should replace workers with the National Guard just because people won't get the covid shot. I thnk that this is going to far and it's taking away part of our rights and freedoms. It depends on the situation and what job I had for me to get vaccinated. I dont want to loose my job either because they are forcing me to do something that i may not want to do, it's my choice.

  • I do not think that the workers should be replaced with the National Guard. I do not think that the National Guard should replace them because that is not their job. For me, it would depend on what job is. If it was a job I was going to do for my entire career then I would get the shot.

  • I don't think people should have to get the vaccine of they dont want it. However, if I nedded to get it to keep my job, I would get it. I would also get it if it was protecting other people at work.

  • I believe there is a lot of people that would not get vaccinated to keep their jobs because they put their beliefs before anything, And I agree with them that it should be their choice. I think it is wrong to be able to force a vaccination on someone.

  • I don't think that people should be forced to get the vaccine unless they work in a field that deals with sick people. I would get vaccinated to keep my job because i don't think that they are putting stuff in it and I already got it and didn't feel much adverse affects.

  • I dont think that the state workers should be replaced with the national guard because I think that you should have a choice to get it or not, but the ones that dont should have tests weekly. I think it would depend on my job if I decided to get the vaccine or not.

  • I do not think they should replace worker with the National Guard just because they do not get vaccinated. It is everybodys own choice. There are already too less people working in that. But I think it is a good solution to test instead, as long as no one gets disadvantaged. I am not sure if I would get vaccinated to keep my job. On the one side I do not want to get forced but at the same time I do not want to loose my job because of that.

  • Thats a hard question on the one hand you need your job, the money and when you dont have support from someone eles you probably have to get the vaccine to keep your life how it is. If  that is right, I dont think so because it is kind of that the government force the people to get their vaccine.

Getting the vaccine would make the life easier but I would try not to get it because I think its not nessecary because we had cold before and survived it. So for what should I take the risk to get such a new vaccine.
