College graduates earn 80% more than non-college graduates. However, only 51% of people in America see college as important. In 2009, the Obama administration wanted to increase the amount of 25-34 year olds with college degrees or certificates to 60% by 2020. At the rate we are going, it would take until 2056 to reach this goal. The United States’ economy is dependent on the educational success of Americans. Without sufficient workers to complete the work needed to keep America running, we would ultimately fall to poverty.
One reason college has been pushed off for students is because of cost, which has increased by 25% just over this decade. The increased costs has put student debt in America at its peak. This alone is causing the importance of college in kids’ minds to drop significantly. However, having a college education increases the pay you make by a ton compared to someone who doesn’t graduate from college. So while you may spend a few years paying off student loans, you will be making more money in the long run.
Another reason students’ have seemed to lose interest in college is because of millionaires like Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates who are both college dropouts. These few exceptions cause kids to believe that they can make it just fine without a college education. While yes, it is true that you can make a good living without a college degree, you would be able to live more comfortably with one.
Without college education, our country will lack skilled workers and our economy will be hurt. While we can live without a college degree, it is important to our society. College isn’t a necessity for individuals, but our economy will continue to grow and flourish with college degrees.

I also think it wouldn't be a bad idea to make college more afordable but there is one problem with that. If students don't stick money into somegthing it is much more likely they will end up not going through it or dropping out and joining as many times as they want.
I don't believe that college has to be a priority, but I think it helps get more people into the workforce and helps individuals accomplish more. Personally, I want to go to college but I've had to start working now as a sophomore to be able to afford my college education in two years which is ridiculous. I don't think college should be as expensive as it is now and I worry all the time about how I'm going to pay for it so part of me wonders if I really need to go to college just because of the cost. Students shouldn't have to avoid college because they cannot afford it.
I think people should have the right to choose but it will only help them in the future. They will have better oportunities for higher paying jobs and will have an easier time trying to find those jobs. I definitly think the prices need to be brought down tremedisly because I think that is a major factor keeping people from going.
I do not think that college should be a priority. Not all people have a collage degree or have even been to a day of college and they have a good life and make a good living without the extra education. I do not plan on going to college I dont really know what i want to be but i hate school now and I dont want to have to do more of it if it is not nessecary.
I think college should be really pushed almost to the point where it is a priority, and in order to do that you would have to make the cost lower and convince kids to go to college and not drop out. I do plan on attending college after high school and I am going to try and make it through.
I agree cost of college need to be lowered majorly. students are coming out with huge student dept and they have a very hard time coming out of that. I think it really needs to be pushed, it may not be the easiest thing they ever done but they will make tons of memeories that they will never forget and will end up with a higher paying job in the future
College shouldn't be a priority not everyone goes to college and they have a good life. Not all people can handle college and aren't built for it. I do plan on going to college the work I want to go into does require me to take 4 years of college and lots of college classes.
Everyone can have their own opinion of what they want to do what they feel if its right or wrong. Collage should be for everyone. Collage is important, its good for getting a job and an education and from having a good scholar ship. I agree that our counrty would lack skilled workers and that our economy would be hurt without collage education, it just wouldn't seem right and there would be lots of trouble and problems which we don;t want.
I agree that everyone should have a choice wether they want to go or not but I think that giving it a shot or even really thinking about going will help them in the future. college trade school or any other schooling that will help set up there future better Is what I think people should do.
no i do not think college should be a priority. it all really depends on what you want to do but i think its a waste of time and money and you could make the same amount of money that you do with a college degree if you find the right job to do. no i do not plan on going to college i would rather make money
