College graduates earn 80% more than non-college graduates. However, only 51% of people in America see college as important. In 2009, the Obama administration wanted to increase the amount of 25-34 year olds with college degrees or certificates to 60% by 2020. At the rate we are going, it would take until 2056 to reach this goal. The United States’ economy is dependent on the educational success of Americans. Without sufficient workers to complete the work needed to keep America running, we would ultimately fall to poverty.
One reason college has been pushed off for students is because of cost, which has increased by 25% just over this decade. The increased costs has put student debt in America at its peak. This alone is causing the importance of college in kids’ minds to drop significantly. However, having a college education increases the pay you make by a ton compared to someone who doesn’t graduate from college. So while you may spend a few years paying off student loans, you will be making more money in the long run.
Another reason students’ have seemed to lose interest in college is because of millionaires like Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates who are both college dropouts. These few exceptions cause kids to believe that they can make it just fine without a college education. While yes, it is true that you can make a good living without a college degree, you would be able to live more comfortably with one.
Without college education, our country will lack skilled workers and our economy will be hurt. While we can live without a college degree, it is important to our society. College isn’t a necessity for individuals, but our economy will continue to grow and flourish with college degrees.

I think college is important and people should want to get a high education. I think this because it will benefit them and our economy. I also think college needs to be less expensive to encourage people. Yes, I attend to plan college so I can have a steady job and support my future family.

I think that in our society and the current job market, a college degree is seen as almost essential. I personally don't think it should be necessary to be able to get a high paying job, but as of now, it is. If it is seen as necessary in the job market, I think college should be less expensive to allow more people to receive a college education. I am planning on attending college. It it necessary to get into a well paying job, and without it, it is extremely difficult.
I think that it depends on the person weather it should be a priortiy or not. Clearly for someone wanting to go into accounting it should be but for someone who wants to farm it might not be. I plan on attending college so that I can get a good job.
I do not think that college should be mandatory. I think this because some people will choose to stay on their family farm. To be a farmer, you only really need a high school education. I do plan on attending college because I would like to have a reliable career to fall back on, considering my family does not own agriculture.

It depends on the individual and their interests and projects for the future. I plan on attending college because I need a college education for the job that I want to do.
I don't think college should be a priority because you can either not go to college or go to a trade school and make just as much as someone with a degree. I plan on attending college because I would like to get a degree which would be good for getting a job.
I think going to trade school is a very smart choice and I think going to any sort of schooling after highschool will really help the person finding jobs that are better paying and in something that they really love to do. Everyone should be able to make their own choice but it will greatly help them in their future.
I dont think it should be. It a choice to go and its not for everyone. Some people dont have enough money or have a good paying job already and fell they dont need to go. I dont really know what i want to do in the future but im planing on going.
I think it should up to that person whether or not they choose to go to college. The people who don't enjoy grade school shouldn't have to go to college if they don't want. If you force people to go to college even though they don't want too, you're just wasting money. College is a big prority for most people on the other hand because many poeple are focused on there education and are wanting to have a brighter future.
