On March 11, Joe Biden signed a bill that called for a third round of stimulus checks. The rules and qualifications for the third stimilus check were different from the first two. The third stimulus check states that per each dependent of any age, there would be a check up to $1400. In this new check, 17 year olds and adults will also recieve a payment which is different from the last two bills. This will effect many decisions made by parents or gaurdians made about where the money goes because technically some of the money the family got is because they have children. I think that, depending on the families position, some of the money should be given to the children that are age 14 and up because they are starting to need more money in their life because they are starting to be more independent. I don't think the children under the age of 14 should need it because they aren't very independent yet.
Another new addition to the bill is, families with noncitizen parents but US citizen children are eligable for checks. There is also a way that families can get even more money which is by child tax credit. A child under the age of 6 can earn up to $3,600 in credit and up to $3000 for children up to age 17. The stimulus check can be a good thing or a bad thing. It can be good for families that are struggling during COVID 19 but it can also be bad for people because it doesn't give them a reason to work. If someone was getting paid by not having to work, it wouldn't give them encouragement to try to find a job.
In conclusion, the new bill signed by Joe Biden provides many advantages for families in need of the money. It also has checks for more variety of people that are living in the United States. The bill has good things but could also lead to bad. The good things could include money for families in need of it, but the bad things could be people losing their motivation to work.
Do you think the children of the families should recieve some of the money from the checks?
How do you think the $1.9 trillion dollars spent on stimulus checks will affect the economy?

My favorite topic of the week! Great choice and well done!
Being the only parent commenting, my wife and I decided to give the $1400 that we got to our two kids for one simple reason-we did not let them work from March until school started in August due to Covid. Due to this, we feel we cost them that amount of money at a minimum so therefore deserve that money. If we allowed our kids to work during that time, we would have taken a portion of the money as we still pay for most things for our kids at this point in their life.
I think that if children still live with their parents, the parents are the ones who should receive most of those money. In my opinion maybe teenagers could get a part of it, but not all of it for sure. The stimulus checks might help the economy since they give people money to spend on stuff, which benefits companies that maybe weren't earning a lot during the pandemic.
I feel that children should receive part of it, but not all of it. The reason I feel this way because it you just hand them the $1,400 the child is just gonna go haywire and spend it on dumb things. Where I also believe that this money should just go in a savings account incase the kid may need it someday.
I agree that children should receive a little bit of money.
Yes they should because some kids have to pay there own gas and etc. I think that if children would receive the check they should receive not the whole thing but some of it. I don't think it will effect the economy a lot because some people might be unemployed and the economy has enough money the way it is.
I agree that the money could be used for gas money.
Like you said if the child is above the age of 14 years old they should receive part of the stimulus check. If they are above the age of 16 and have a current job you should receive the full amount of the stimulu check. The idea of a stimulus check is to put the money back into the economy so if everyone spends that money by outting it back into the economy instead of savings account then the economy will be benifiated.
I agree that older children should recieve a little money.
I think the parents are given the money for these children so they can buy and support the kids. If you gave the kids the money they would spend money on useless things like toys, food machines, electronics, etc. I think 1.9 trillion is a lot of money but if it is what is needed to get people back on their feet then it is what we will do.
