Should cancel culture be canceled?

Cancel culture is a culture that revolves around canceling things that offend people. Cancel culture also likes to cancel things that are misogynistic or racist. This sounds like a great thing but they often cancel things that are not worth canceling. Cancel culture often cancels things because they offend a few people which is ridiculous.

Cancel culture makes it harder for many people and companies to express their opinions without getting attacked by a million keyboard warriors for offending a group of minorities. Life would be much easier if people were just not as easily offended by silly things such as the RedSkins football team name. There is no reason that a team should have to change their name after so many years because a couple people were offended. Another example would be the removal of Aunt Jemima off the label of the syrup and pancake mix brand.

I think that it is ridiculous that brands and companies should have to work around canceling culture. I think that the idea of canceling a brand name or team name because someone is offended is completely ridiculous. Do you think that culture should be canceled? Do you think that some of the things that are cancelled are ridiculous? What do you think about cancel culture?

  • Good topic choice and well done overall Carson! I do think your summary could be a tad longer and also be sure to comment three different days.

  • I think that in most cases, cancel culture should be cancelled. Cancel culture can obviously be good in specific cases. If someone puts a logical opinion on the internet, then they shouldn't be cancelled due to a disagreement. The things getting banned that you mentioned seem to have no good reason to be cancelled. I agree that it would be nice if people could get less offended over small things.

    • I agree because I do not think that people should be canceled for simply stateing their opinion and somebody doesnt like their opinion. I also agree that life would be much easier if people did not get offended or try to cancel someone or something over something little.

  • I don't think that it should be cancelled because it's what some people grew up doing or believing in.

  • I believe that cancel should be cancelled. I think that cancel culture has ruined so many things that had nothign to do with and part  of rascism or sexism.  I don't agree with the cancel culture and their beliefs. It's not fair for people to stop thing that are important in people's life.

  • I think that cancel culture is okay in some aspects, but they go way too far most of the time. I think parts of it need to be canceled themselves or taken away. I do think that some things that get canceled are ridiculous, I've seen people get canceled for speaking spanish when it was their first language. Cancel cultrure goes too far sometimes.

    • I agree because cancel culture goes way to far by canceling things that are so little or are not even worth canceling. I also think cancel culture cancels to many people for just voiceing their opinion and someone doesnt like it so they get cancled.

  • yes I think cancel culture should be canceled in some instances but we should keep it just use it more sparingly yes somethings that get cannceled are stupid in my mind but some thing are not which is why I want to keep it so while yes most of it is dumb it helps a lot in some cases

  • I think canceling culture is stupid because most of the time they dig up stuff from years ago. The times 10 or 20 years ago were very different. Everyone cancels people out for stupid things that no one cares about. Like the worst, it was the vegetarians who put the meat-eaters to shame. Just let people live their lives. The world is so sheltered that I 100% bullying made a larger and better impact than cancel culture. Bullying people into something actually made a better difference than all of cancel culture.

  • I think cancel culture is very childish and honestly just dumb. It just adds stress to the people on social media that are just trying to make a living and do their job. Everyone makes mistakes, and we should normalize that instead of canceling people for it.
