The flag resembles freedom and burning that says that we don’t want freedom. Hundreds of thousands of men have died for this country and the flag resembles what they fought for. In 1989 Congress tried passing the Flag Desecration Amendment so it was illegal to burn the flag but the senate didn’t let it pass due to freedom of speech. It’s illegal to burn any other flags in our country except the American flag. If other flags are burned and someone caught you doing that, you would have jail time. This is not fair at all because why should people get jail time for burning other flags but not getting jail time for burning the American flag.
I think burning the flag is horrible because it’s so disrespectful to our country. Lots of people died in all the wars our country has been in and our flag resembles the freedom that the people we lost fought for. The flag stands for justice and if it is burned that means the people that burn it don’t want justice for our country. There's a lot of people that think they are not treated right but a lot of those people get mad at little things so they go straight to flag burning. People get mad much easier than they used to years ago because of reality changing. I feel like people should just calm down and think about what they are doing and think about the flag and what it means and resembles. People need to come together and not be so split apart and not burn the flag.

Burning any flag should not be illegal. As a form of protest, burning a Flag that means so much to certain groups can be persuasive in power. This does not mean I am going to burn any US flag. We have the confederate flag for that.
I don't think burning the flag should be illegal. Now, just because I believe that, does not mean that I will disrespecting and burn every American flag I see. In fact, it should be seen as patriotic. Burning the flag has been something that has been done since when the British used to rule over us.
It's so disrespectful and unnecessary to burn the American flag. I get it if you don't stand for some of the things it represents, but that is you not others. So why destroy something that others value? It's just pure stupidity. I believe it should definitely be illegal and penalized.
I think that anyone who burns the US flag shold get jail time because they are burning our symbol of freedom. I also think that it is dumb that people get angered over the burning of flags such as the lqbtq flag because "they fought so hard to earn it" while we fought in how many wars just to keep the US flag and our freedom.

I think that the burning of the american flag should be illegal because it is very dissrespectfull to the many veterans that fought for you to have the rights that you engoy today, and the freedoms that you have. Without veterans fighting for that flag the United States would probly not have all the freedoms that you enjoy.
I think burning the flag is very disrespectful since it resembles many things in our country like freedom. I think freedom of speech is very important but I still think it should be illegal to burn the American Flag. I don't understand why its illegal to burn any other flag but the American Flag.
I think that buring the United States flag should be illegal. I believe this because it's very disrespectful to the United States military members. The most common reason people burn the flag is in protest or riots to try and prove a point but these burnings don't prove anything but rather it only inrages the majority of the country for their disrespectful and stupid acts.
I think buning the flag in protest is horribly awful thing and you should be punished greatly. There are times when it is appropriate to burn the flag. When it touches the ground you are suppose to respectfully burn it over a smoldering flame. When it is falling apart you are suppose to do the same thing. There are places to turn the flag in if you do not want to do it yourself.
I think burning the flag should be illegal because that is disrespectfull to our country and our declared our independence from Great Britain. I think there should be a huge punishment if someone is caught doing it or found evidence that they burned the flag, like arrested or a huge fine.
