I think that burning the American flag should be illegal, because it's not only rude to the person how made it but to the people who risked their lives and even died to set us free. It's really disrespectful, because Betsy Ross put her time and so much effort into making the first ever American flag and people think it's okay to use it as just a peice of fabric to make a torch. She spent so much time and probably poked her self with a neddle a lot of time just to get the flag done, and people just think it dosen't matter that she made a flag, there are always more. There was never a time when I thought to burn a flag because it's so rude and just a horrible thing to do.
Then it's disrespectful to the people who fought for it. Those people left their families to go to war and fight for our freedom and to put up the the torn symbol of our freedom. Most of them didn't make it back and some of them were never found, their families had to bury an epty grave. Then by burning a flag mean you don't care that those people died so you could be free and you practically spit in their faces and their families faces when you burn the flag. I mean how could a flag be that importante to where people died for it to be put up and wave in the wind even though it was torn and battered they still fought for it.
It's also unfair to other people to burn the American flag, because some people scrape their pockets and saving to buy and American flag just so they can hang it up in their yard and yet when they look at the internet they see the flag that they could have had being burned by hateful people. On this wedsite I read that a guy in Ames burned a gay pride flag and got 16 years in jail, but if it was an American flag they would have done nothing about it. I mean the pride flag has been here less than the American flag has been, but yet the pride flag has more respect than the American flag, the symbol of freedom.

I think that burning of the flag, outside of it being destored if it is damaged or discolerd, should have a fine for it. The flag stands for all those who fought for the US and all the vaules of the US. Someone burning the American flag is not seen as anything super disrespctful now which is sad.
soldiers may fight for the country but we have to fight for our rights, women, lgbtq and poc people specifically. because they are the ones who have the least support in most countries how do you expect them to get attention and freedom? protesting, we've done that and we got labelled as terrorists, petitions? ignored and shot down, we've even used social media for spreading the word but yet nothing changes.
If they took a much calmer course of action maybe they might see some results. The reason that BLM has been called a group of terrorists is because they have been creating panic in the streets and attacked people physical if they have a different viewpoint.
I think burning the flag should be illegal unless they are doing it in a respectful way. Meaning the flag is in bad condition. A lot of people have lost their lives fighting for what the flag stand for and if people can't understand that they can find somewhere else to live.
I 100% think the flag should never be burned I think if you burn an american flag you should go to jail instead of the pride flag. Men and woman died for the country that they worked to hard for us to be free and have home to go home at night. They are the ones that keep us from getting invaded by another country, they are the reason why we are free.

I think that it should be extremly illegal to burn an American flag. Men and women died so that flag could be flown and yet people still burn it yet the guy from Ames got 16 years in prison for burning a pride flag. I have nothing against people in the pride community but I think that you shouldn't get time in prison for burning a pride flag and that you should get time in prison for burning an American flag.

I think that it should definitely be illegal to burn an american flag. Not only is this disrespectful to the people who fought and died for the flag and the people it represents, but this kind of behavior also promotes hatred for the country, which results in violence, anarchy, entitlement, and many other horrible things. We should definitely be preventing people from doing this.
