Shooting Near School No Lockdown

A Omaha Public School is starting to hear things from parents after not going into lockdown after a shooting occured just a half a mile away from the school. To make things worse the shooting occured right before school was to be let out.

What are your thoughts? Do you think they should of went to lockdown mode? Also why do you think there is so much shooting in Omaha?

Yes it is scary that the shooting happened so close to the school, but there are so many shootings in Omaha. If the schools went into lockdown everytime, they would never get anything done! I don't know the reason for the shootings in Omaha, but there sure are a lot of them

I cant believe they didn't go into lock down. I think the parents should be mad. Their kids lives were in danger.

i think its good they locked down and didnt let the kids out in the crazyness..they probably all surround the site and it would just be a mess.

I thinks its a pretty good idea because if you think about it, the shooting was pretty close and the shooter could go on a rampage.

I definately see why the parents are upset about this. They should have definately went into lockdown especially since it was right before the kids were supposed to get out. I would be scared as a parent and as a kid. Some people don't know how to control their hatred and anger and that is what I believe causes all these shootings.

I think they probablly should have had a lock down for atleast like half an hour there's no point in making kids stay there for hours, but i also think omaha has a problem with shootings is because there is issues with gangs there and it's just a larger population.

Many parents were upset about this but i dont think it is needed to go on lockdown. Well, the shooting was really close to the school but still. the shooting had nothing to do with there school and it just happens to be close to the school. I dont thin that kids would be walking a mile away from school anyways. But you never know.

They should have definitely put the school on lock down! I do not blame the parents for being mad!

They shouldve went into lockdown. If a shooting just occured do you really think that a bunch of kids should be let out so that they could be in danger?

i definietly think they should of because they have to make sure the students' lives are safe. I think there is so many shootings in Omaha because there are many different types of people and not everyone gets along.
