Last friday a gunman opened fire at Los Angeles Airport killing one TSA employee and they still haven't released how many others were hurt. We now know that the gunman is in police custody. The shooting occurred at a screening area. The gunman had a rifle or another long gun according to police. The shooting happened at about 12:20 and 8-10 shots were fired. A witness said that everyone that was in line dropped to the ground when the shots started and left their luggage behind trying to find an exit. Another witness said he asked a TSA employee that had been shot in the leg if he was okay and he replied “I’m fine, I got shot. Don’t worry, I've been shot before.” Flights were then grounded afterword. More than 1,500 flights take off and land at LAX each day.
I think that it is really scary that this type of thing happened even though we have upped airport security. What do you think they could have done to prevent this from happening or how can they prevent this from happening again?

I don't think security can stop this unless they see him because it is right at the entrance the person can just walk in shooting. I think it is crazy that the guy had been shot before and was okay with it.
Have a heavier security in the parking lots and to the entrances of the air port.
A lot of people are worried about what kind of weapons are on a plane but this could happen so easily. Maybe there should be some kind of car search before you can go to the airport. although people may not appreciate how much time it took
They should have harder looking security and they should lock people outside until they get identification.
I think that they need to have armed personnel to defend against this so they can defend themselves.
Airport security is already very tight I don't know what else they can do. This is very unfortunate but thankfully not many casualties occurred.

Oh my gosh! This is so scary. If I was in shooting I would go in panic mode and just run, run and run!
That would scare my a lot. I think that they should have more security at the entrances. I am not sure if that would prevent any more shootings, but it might help.
This is crazy, i can't believe how popular shooting are getting. Maybe some they should have security right by the door, so no one can even have a chance to get in with a gun.
