Shelby Firefighter Targeted in scam

Michael Collins, a voluteer firefighter from Shelby was hit by a car earlier this week in the line of duty. As if that wasn't bad enough, now a telemarketer has started calling people with a fake fund for the family asking for people's credit card numbers for donations. Oh, the world we live in.... Thoughts?

  • Thats just wrong and sad.
  • My dad went to the funeral and said there was a bunch of other firefighters there.

  • We got to be really careful of who we give our information to.

  • Why would someone do this? obviously the family is already going through something why try to make it worse? I feel so bad for the family.
  • That is terrible who would that.
  • Thats just got to be terrible for the family going through his death then a scam for money...
  • I feel sorry for the guy. I wouldn't want to give money toward a fund and then find out that it was a scam. Micheal must feel really bad that all of this money is bein gdonated and it was a scam.
  • Some people are just plain old pathetic! It's annoying what some people are like ha. Geesh!
  • This is awful. Why would someone ever think of even doing that. Do people not have sympathy or feelings anymore theses days or what?
  • I feel bad for Collins's family. The telemarketer has a problem if he is going to use Collins's death to try to get money for himself.
