Meals from the Heartland is an organization aimed at ending hunger. In Dunlap, Iowa they're taking ending hunger to a whole new level. Bailey Schaben and Alec Lapke had to complete a school project. Bailey wanted to make a big impact. She wanted to do something different than the rest of her classmates. She got together with her friend Alec to do their class project and turned it into a community service project.
They partnered with Meals from the Heartland and the principal even got the whole school involved. They turned the gym into an assembly line. They had different people filling, weighing, sealing, and packaging all the bags and food. Together, the Dunlap school packaged enough food to make at least 42,000 meals.

Opinion:
I think this is a very good thing to do. I think it's amazing that a small town like Dunlap can do this project that will affect thousands of people. I would definitely help/do this if I had the chance to do this because there's so many people in the world that go hungry in the United States and especially in third world countries. I think this would an amazing thing that Harlan could do. It would help feed the hungry and what's better than that? Hopefully, someday all schools can do something like this. We need more people like this in the world.

I think that this is a great thing to do for your community. I would help out with something like this, because it's very important for people to not go hungry.
I think this is a good way t do as a project as it helps people, yes definitely I will do this if I get this chance because this is a good project to do as a person it does not only benefit the people that are suffering from hunger it also has a good impact on you and inspire other people to do the same thing, yeah I think Harlan should do this because it will make the people of Harlan active and more recognizable to different people that don't know about Harlan and it will be great.
It is for a great cause and I think more people should want to participate in this. I agree that is does inspire other people to do something similiar. I think sometimes we take it for granted that we have every meal on the table, so I think this would be a great idea for some people to see how lucky we are.

I think that this is an amazing idea! It's so great that everyone could get together and impact so many lives in a positive way. If I had this chance I would definitely participate in it because it is such a wonderful. thing to do. Harlan could definitely, especially since we are much bigger compared to Dunlap. Our community is so great at supporting each other and coming together we could easily do this.

I think that Harlan could do this because there is almost four times as many people in Harlan then there is in Dunlap. We have such an amazing community that I think if we did this a lot of people could help with this.
