Sending Troops to Saudi Arabia

Deployments have been sent to Saudi Arabia in case of aggression against US forces. 1,500 have been sent will include two fighter squadrons, one air expeditionary win, two Patriot batteries and one Terminal High Altitude Area Defense. The secretary, Prince, And Minister of Saudi were informed of the troop deployment Friday morning. This deployment combined with other deployments will have made an extra 3,000 troops to Saudis defense. This means that the United States has brought 14,000 total soldiers into Saudi Arabia's defense just since May. The tension was really rising between Saudi and Iran which led to request and decision in extra troops. It is led to believe that Iran had launched air strikes on Saudi disrupting 5% of the daily oil supply. Iran claims it wasn’t them but Saudi needed back nonetheless.

Do you think it is a good idea to send help to Saudi, or was it a waste of troops?

I personally think it was good for us to send more troops to help them out with Iran so they can at peace again.

What would you do if Iran retaliates and launches an attack on Saudi?

I think I would try to clear out all the soldiers and troops and go for a more serious arial attack on Irans military strong points.

  • Good overall bt be sure to reply back three different days next time.

  • I think it is a good idea because of the amount of our oil they supply. I would stay at home and read about it and probable not worry.

  • I think it was a good idea because we are helping a country in need, and that way they can hopefully figure it all out and have some peace. I would probably try and get some of the U.S. troops out because I wouldn't want them to get hurt and then maybe try bombing them.

  • I think it was a good idea for them to send more troops over there because it sounds like they needed it just in case those air strikes were indeed Iran. I would also evacuate the troops in preparation for the air strikes and come back at them with our own arial attack like you said.

    • I agree with what your saying. Sending troops was a good idea in general because even if they don't attack at all we at least have them there just incase something were to happen.

  • I think that while it is good to help them as much as we can saving our own troops lives is just as important. If that were to happen withdrawing our troops and attacking back in a different way, one that doesn't cost American lives would be a better plan

    • I do somewhat agree with what your saying. That would be a better plan in to save the soldiers life in case of an airstrike; however if it was a ground attack we couldn't get forces there in time to save casualties.

  • I think that helping others is almost always a good thing. If they truly needed help and the asked for our assistance then I think that we should help them. I hope that their country is at peace one day and our help is not needed there again.

    • I agree. Having peace between the two countries I think is the main focus here. If peace is not an option I think Irans military should reach an agreemant or something with Saudi or the US

  • I fully agree with you. I never like to see deployments have to be made, but I honestly think it was a good decision on Donald Trump's part. I mostly believe this because it is important to put some of our resources into helping our allies stay at peace. I hope that the issues can get resolved soon so our troops can get home safely and return to their families. This leads me to my next answer, which was to say that I agree on that as well. I do think that if the war in Saudi picks up, we should just get our troops out of there and try to take stronger measures. But, I agree with all of your statements.
