semester tests-- incentives so you dont have to take the semester test

Okay, so I know of a few teachers that say oh, if you miss less than 2 days of school, or you have a specific percent or higher, you dont have to take the semester test. I know for Mr. Bruck you can only miss one day, but all school related, pre-abs, and college visits are fine and don't count towards that one day. But I think its kind of dumb. I'm in his class and ive missed like 3 days, but all because I was sick.. Sorry I can't pre-ab being sick. So I think that its kind of dumb when people who just have the tendency of sickness, have to take the test when they have a good grade in that class, and its not like theyre skipping..... just saying (:.

Yeah, for Mrs. Boeck you can only miss 2 days and I was sick for two days and gone another day. So, I still have to go and it's not like I could help being sick. But, whatever I guess...

i like that the teachers do this, but i do think that they should make it so we can miss more than one or two days

I think it shouldn't count for like the first three times your sick but after that I think it should count because some people arent even sick when they stay home, they just feel like skipping.

I like them, because they are easy to follow and in the end, you actually get to start your summer sooner than you thought. Drink more orange juice and your immune system will get boosted and then you wont get sick as much,,, like me (:

I think they do this because the people who really do skip made it hard to belive that people that really have a real excuse to be absent and the school just prboably decide screw it. If you're gone..then whatever.

i dont have a problem with it. just like its up to the teacher how long it is and what is on the test, its up to them if they want to have incentives to also not have to take it. i do agree that excused absences shouldnt count unless you have a ton of them. but it is a good way to try and keep people from skipping.

well i dont think that is fair, but if your teacher sets that as the standard, you have to deal with it.

ya in all of mr bruck classes you can opt out of the semester test by missing 1 day of school or less
