SCP-Foundation

What is the SCP-Foundation?

The SCP-Foundation is a collaborative writing wiki. The wiki originated in the "paranormal" /x/ forum of 4chan by an anonymous user. The anonymous user started the project by creating the first ever SCP, SCP-173, The Sculpture, in 2007. A stand-alone wiki was created in January 2008 on the EditThis wiki hosting service to display the SCP articles. The themes of the SCP-Foundation have covered urban legends, science fiction, eldritch horror, history, mystery, creepypasta, and nature.

In the 1800 Scp-001, The Gate Guardian, told James Aaron Siegel to prepare. James Aaron Siegel retired as an American scientist to become known as 05-1. The SCP-Foundation is kept secret from the world, although country leaders know about it. James named the foundation the SCP-Foundation for Secure, Contain, Protect- Foundation.

The personnel classes are listed alphabetically from a to e.  A-class personnel is always the 05-council. A-class must know about all anomalies, but don't have access to the anomalies themselves. B-class personnel are site-directores, and can only  access objects, entities, and anomalies that have passed quarantine. C-class personnel are the mobile tasks forces, scientist, security guards, and janitors. C-class personnel have access to all anomalies depending on their level clearance. D-class personnel are prison inmates that are on death row. E-class personnel are contained because they have been exposed to dangerous SCPs.

The anomalies have a number assigned to them and have classes attached to them. The classes are Safe, Euclid, Keter, Thaumiel, and Apollyon. Safe classes are anomalies that don't need any special containment procedures like SCP-999, tickle monster. Euclid anomalies reduire more resources to contain completely or containment isn’t always reliable like SCP-096, Shy Guy. SCPs like SCP-682, indestructible lizard, are keter class anomalies because they are exceedingly difficult to contain. Thaumiel class SCPs like SCP-3000, Anantashesha, which are used to contain other SCPs. SCP-6000-Jay is an apollyon class that is impossible to contain.

  • Very interesting Corey. No one has ever done this topic before so I give you props for that!  I do think that it is still confusing for some so you could have given some examples of this project(with pictures perhaps). Good job replying to students! You had quite the conversation with Sabre! Thanks for sharing something that you have a lot of interest in!

  • I think that this forum post is super well written by the way! I think that for someone like me, it is hard to understand everything that is happening about this. Overall I think that this is a super interseting website and writing site. I think that it is very interesting and the fact that it could possibly destroy worlds seems insane.

    • Thank you for the feedback. The entire foundation an be confusing if you don't read about it on the wiki or any where else.

  • The SCP foundation is a very interesting creative writing site. They have many interesting stories. I believe I might want to work here, but only if it was a safe and controlled area where no outbreaks happen, unlike in the stories there.

    • The site you would want to work at would be Site-19. The sites are the actual foundation bases and are what contain the SCPs. Site-19 contains hundreds of the safest SCPs to exist but it is also the most dangerous site.

  •  This is going to sound kinda bad, but I still kinda need it dumbed down a bit for me. I think I get the just of it, but I would still like it simplified. I don't really know what to respond to since there aren't any questions but if you respond to me, with a question, and or maybe a dumbed-down summary then I will happily reply back. I really want to wrap my head around this

    • Thank you for the feedback. A quick summary is that anomalies are contained and experimented on that could destroy worlds.

A question would be, If the SCP-Foundation was real would you work there?

      • Woah, that's probably my first reaction. I mean, I don't think I would personally like working there because well, it seems dangerous and kind of like a cult? Does that sound right? Or am I not seeing this correctly. I mean, you said that this could destroy worlds. WORLDS. I mean, how would they do this? Like with words or like actually getting mad at someone and, well, you know, someone killing them?

        • The anomalies are the ones that can destroy world and entire realities. The Foundation was created to protect humanity and, stop XK-Class End from happening. XK-Class End is the end of entire worlds and realities.

          • Oh. still Woah. They experiment on stuff to destroy the world. Also... you said that it is a collaborative Writing board? What type of stuff would they write? Also, would you be willing to work there?
