Public school all across the country are cancelling Halloween celebrations because of issues of Candy Corn. There are concerns that Americans are forcing their holiday traditions on new immigrants and many parents were not happy about it. The principal at Buckman Elementary School in Portland, Oregon banned costumes at his school. The principal Brian Anderson said if he sees any kids with costumes then he is making them change clothes. I think that is a little over the top! What do you think.?

this is so stupid elementary kids look forward to wearing costumes you shouldnt take it away from them thats so stupid! Whoopty doo were forcing our holiday traditions on immigrants, if you dont like it here then get out! thats how i think of it.
Why can't people who want to wear costumes and the immigrants who don't celebrate Halloween just not doing any thing with it. The parents don't need to get upset with it.
Thats really over the top, I don't really like candy corn its disgusting. They shouldn't ban costumes, as long as the costumes are appropriate then the kids should be able to wear them to school.

I think that is a little bit over the top. I dont think the students she stop having the dress up because of the principle i think should lift the rule. Halloween is a fun holiday and the students should be able to celebrate it.
If the new immigrants don't like our holidays, and our customs, then they can just march right back to where they came from. That's my opinion. And if i were the principal, i would say exactly that. just maybe in a little nicer way.

This is ridiculous..i can understand the costumes but candy corn? whats wrong with it?
Thats really messed up. I could understand banning inopropriate costumes, but not costumes in general.

Celebrating Halloween isn't a do or die holiday. It's optional! You can dress up like a human for halloween and no one would care. geez..
