The young lad, aged 12, became trapped when it is believed the drain cover had been kicked out of position in Peterborough, Cambs.
Fire and rescue crews worked with police and ambulance staff to release the boy, during the incident last Monday afternoon.
How do you think the boy ended up falling in the drain, with it being on the grass, and so close to a fence?
How scared would you be if this happened to you?

Brief summary again but you replied more.
He was probably distracted by something else, perhaps playing or even just thinking about something else and not paying attention. I would be very scared because there is the possibility that someone may not find you. But once I knew that someone knew where I was I would be relieved.
He was maybe probably just walking and walked in the grass and he just happened to fall. Also he could have maybe tripped over his own shoe or something it is hard to tell. I would be very scared if it happened to me because I would think no one would come help and I would not know what to do about it.
I think that this probably happened when he was playing in his yard. I would be absolutely terrified and I can't believe that this would happen. One would think that there would be more precautions especially when it is a neighborhood with kids on the block.
Maybe he didnt see the drain and wasn't looking where he was walking. I would have been very scared I would never get out but im glad he is ok.
MAybe the boy just didn't see it. I think its the city's fault they should have signs or something or have it covered.
Maybe the kid was playing around by the bushes or even walking and didnt see it. I dont understand how it happened but hes young and might not know better. The city should have the responsibility to have that covered.
Maybe he was walking and just didn't see the drain, I don't really sea how you could miss a whole in the ground, but its possible.
First, I would be so scared and screaming my head off probably, and then the question is why would it be off? Those things are really heavy too so someone meant for that to happen! And the boy was probably just walking next to the fence like all 12 years old's do.
Right off the bat I can see a huge lawsuit in coming, I mean its all the city's fault for not having the hole properly covered. If i was the boy id have to try to keep calm and yell and try to get help.
