School Shooting At UNC

On april 30 there was a school shooting at UNC. 22 year old Trystan Andrew Terrell opened fire in the kennedy building killing 2 and injuring 4. It was the last day of school for students attending UNC. Trystan’s motives are still unknown but the police promise to get to the bottom of the question. The two students who were killed were Ellis Parlier, 19, and Riley Howell, 21. Riley howell is being considered a hero after he was able to get Trystan off balanced giving the cops time to move in and secure Trystan.

  1. What do you think some of Trystan's motives were to shoot the school.

I think that he could have been bullied or could have been having trouble in his classes which pushed him over the edge

  1. If you were in Riley Howells position would you go after the shooter

If i was in his spot I would like to say that i would be able to but i don't think i would be able to stand up against him out of the fear of what might happen.

  • Overall your summary is a bit brief and you didn't reply to any student comments which is worth 20 points. -10 late

  • He could have been bullied as you said, or maybe he just wasn't very stable. If I were in his situation, I would have been scared to do what he did. If there was an unstable person running around with a weapon, I would want to avoid them if possible. I don't think I could have done what Riley Howell did.

  • When things like this happen, it is usually motivated by some kind of depression or hurt. I am sure that he was either bullied, having problems at home, or maybe something more personal. I hope that they figure it out and Ellis Parlier and Riley Howell are remembered.

  • I think he could have been getting bullied or he might have had some type of mental problems. I wish i could say that I could do it but I don't know maybe if my adrenaline kicks in and i don't think before i started moving towards the shooter.

  • I think probelly got bullied by students and possibly staff or even maby problems going on at home and decided to take his anger out on the school

I think I would if there were younger sudents around I had the chance to get him down I would

  • Something usually happens in the school shooting that makes a school shooter upset. I would like to say that I would have done the same, but it would be easier said than done if you were actually in the situation. He should be considered a hero for sacrificing his life for possibly many other lives.

  • I don't know what his motives would be. There are a lot of reasons someone would do something like this but none of them are justified. I don't think I'd go after the shooter honestly unless something dramatic happened.

  • I think he may have had a hard time at the school. Maybe he disliked some kids or had an issue with a teacher. We will never really know their motive. I would be nervous to stand up to a shooter, but I hope I would to save people's life.

  • I think that he had mental issues or had problems with the people and teachers there. He could have been bullied too. He might have been angry and turned to violence as an answer. If I was in Riley's position I might of tried to go take down the shooter since I have no idea what I am going to do with my life. So if I die, I would die being a hero or being stupid. It depends what people think.

  • Maybe being bulllied or made fun of at school or maybe he was depressed or had bad grades probably a bad home life. I would try to waste the shooters time and try talking to him as much as I could so I could waste time for the cops to get there and try to get him to put his gun down and not shoot me.
