School board in Louisiana says no to when they ask for a tax break. When East Baton Rouge Parish school board rejected the big oil companies demands it surprised everyone because in Louisiana, obeisance to big oil, gas, and chemical in normal. Retired Army lieutenant general Russel Honoré urged the school to reject the demand, because he says the big oil businesses claim that they are doing so good then how come they are the second poorest state. The oil companies are calling the school anti-business .

I think that they do because it was a big deal that one school denied the demands where it is normal for people to do whatever the company wants whenever they want

I think they had the right to reject the demands, big oil companies are taking advantage of Louisiana to make a profit. I don't think they have much power but their level of influence on elected officials is concerning. Some oil companies damage the environment and still get away with it.
I don't know what I think to be completely honest. I think I'm leaning towards the school being able to have the right to reject the demands for a tax break because everybody deserves to have a voice.
