With school starting up again, a hot topic of discussion is whether we will go online or not. Starting the first 2 weeks off in a "hybrid schedule" was due to the rising numbers in Shelby County, the percentage of positive COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days being too high. However, starting on September 8, we will get to go back to school with everyone. While in a hybrid schedule, we haven't been required to wear a mask in every class and we were able to social distance. When we go back with the whole school, it will be harder to socially distance and masks will be required in every class due to the amount of students. Also, if we go back full and have an outbreak, there is a risk of going completely online. However, having everyone in class will help get through the curriculum faster, and will make sure not half the school is ahead of the other half. Going completely online could help stop the virus from spreading since we will be learning from our homes. But, being teenagers, we want to be with our friends. Students will still be going out and seeing people whether we go online or not. Plus, not a lot of students have the motivation to do online school. Also, most students find it harder to learn online and would rather be with a teacher. In my opinion, I think we should try to go back full, and if there's an outbreak of some sort, we go back to hybrid and avoid online for as long as possible.
So what do you think? Should we be doing school online, hybrid, or regular and why?

Good, timely topic choice Ellie! You did a good job overall. The one thing I would tell is you is to reply on three different days next time as all of your repiles were done on September 1st. I do realize that pretty much all of the student comments were done on August 31 or September 1 but you could have still gone in and split up your replies on three different days.
I think hybrid is the best way to be sure we are socailly distancing if we were to stay open. I think going back to full capactity will be a challenge to always be distanced and away fromm eachother. I do not want to go completely online though, I think we should continue with hybrid learning.
I want us to go to school like regular, but it's probably smartest to go online. This is because at sports practices, and other school events we are all around eachother without masks. So, if you get Covid at a practice and go back to school the next day, you would be exposing a lot more people.
As much as I have enjoyed the hybrid schooling system, I think that we should try to bring all students back to school full time. I think that students are more successful when they have a consistent routine. Additionally, students seem to do better when they have more class time to ask their teachers any questions. I think that online is the worst alternative, as several students struggle to understand online teaching. Even if we do online, students will continue to interact with groups of people outside of school. Online school would actually give students more opportunity to spend time with other people. So, as long as we continue with the safety protocals that are currently in place, I think that we should be able to come back to school at full capacity every day.
I agree that if we go online, people will continue to be with each other and the school can't stop that. If we follow all of the rules we should be able to come back full and be fine, by biggest concern is there will be an outbreak during full capacity and we will end up going completely online.
I agree we should try to avoid online classes. Many students do not have internet at home, so they will struggle to get their school work done and done well. I am one of the many students who like to have in person classes. We should go back to regular classes then no "group" will be ahead of the other "group". Although we would have to wear a mask in every class, it's a small price to pay for the right learning. I do not like wearing masks, but in order to go back full time I would wear it all day.
I am also an in person learner and would prefer to be in class. However, if that means doing hybrid I would take that over completely online. Although I do agree with you that no group should be ahead of the other especially because it could give a certain group less time to get something done.
I believe that we should continue on a hybrid schedule because the special ed kids need more help than regular kids, special ed kids need the teacher to help them make sure they're on the right track to the answer the teacher requires.
In this case, I think full school would be the best option then. That way, you get the extra learning and you're always able to get the help from a teacher since in hybrid the only way to get help is through email or zoom. However, hybrid is a way better ooption then completely online!
I think that we should stay whith the hybrid because people like it lot more because we dont have the were a mask in most of the clasess plus you ar still with som of your freinds and we are still lurning in school. we should just stay hybrid because then people will have more time to work on there school work
