Same-sex marriage is the practice of marriage between a man and a man or a woman and woman. Same-sex marriage has been regulated by law, religion, and custom in most countries of the world, this response to it has been a celebration on one hand and criminalization on the other.
Yale professor and historian John Boswell has argued that Roman Catholic Church in medieval Europe recognized same-sex unions, but others have disputed this claim. The general public has been very invested in the issue during the late 20th century, which was a period when attitudes towards homosexuality and laws regulating homosexual behavior were liberalized in western parts of Europe and the United States.
The issue of same-sex marriage can frequently cause spark an emotional and political clash between supporters and opponents. By the early 21st century several jurisdictions both national and sub-national levels have legalized same-sex marriage. In other jurisdictions, constitutional measures were adopted to prevent same-sex marriages from being legalized. The same act was judged so differently by various types of groups, which can indicate it as being a social issue in the early 21st century; also demonstrates the extent to which cultural diversity persisted both within and among countries. Personally, I think that same-sex marriage should be legal. Thankfully it is legal in the United States, in all 50 states, but In other places, it is not. Let people love who they love. Let them be who they wanna be.
What do you think about same-sex marriage? Do you agree? Why or why not?
Do you think that the government should be able to control who you love? Why or why not?
Do you think that it will bring riots, protests, or anything close to that matter if the government does decide someday to ban same-sex marriage again? Why or Why Not?

Very well done Regan!
I don't agree or disagree with this topic i feel everyone is entitled to there own opinion and who you choose to love is your own choice. I don't think the government should be able to dictate who you love or ban same sex marriage. But if they did ban it somehow someway there would definetly be controversy and riots and protests. In conclusion I don't agree or disagree with this.
I think same sex marriage should be allowed. It shouldn't bring riots because this isn't a big problem. It doesn't affect anyone and shouldn't affect anyone. People are different and we can't hate them for trying to be themselves. People can do what makes them happy.
I believe that same-sex marriage should be allowed because it shouldn't matter what sex you are. It doesn't hurt anybody and the main reason the government hesitates is because of tax fraud but gender still won't matter. I don't think riots will start because other than the government I don't know anybody who would be against it. I'm sure there are people out there but I am guessing there are not many of them.
Same-sex marriage shouldn't be banned nor should it be controlled by the government. I think that those that don't believe this should look at todays world. Today we have many different interest and opinions than our grandparents. Everyone should be happy and have it their way. This will cause riots no matter what. However, I don't understand why others can't just except our young generations happiness.
I don't completely agree with it but if you're happy with that person then go for it by all means. The government should have no say in who you can love or marry. I for sure think that there would be a ton of riots and controversy people I don't think that same-sex marriage should be banned but hey you do what you want.
I think that people can do what they want with their lives and they can marry who they want to. I do not think the governent should be able to control who you can marry or not. People could definetly start to riot but I think that will happen if it gets banned which I do not think will happen.
I think as long as it does not affect me I'm fine with same-sex marriage and they can do what they want. Yes I think it would cause mass protest just because people would have gotten used to it being legal and people would ask why would the government ban it after so long?
I agree with same-sex marriage, although I don't wish to participate, I think if a man loves another man or a woman loves another woman they should be given the same respect as a straight couple. I don't think the government should control who you love because that would be banning something that people can't control. I think there would be many riots if the government decided to ban same-sex marriage because that would be going backward in society and there are gay people in government who would disagree as well.
I agree with you. I like when you said "they should be given the same respect as a straight couple." I think that people should be able to marry whoever they would like without the government's interference. I agree there would be riots if the goverment banned same sex marriage.
