On Halloween night at about 5 p.m. a Dodge Charger driven by a 52 year old man bumped into another car. This collision cause the Charger to fly into the sidewalk hitting a group of 6 people. 3 of the people died including a 10 year old girl, a 25 year old man, and a 65 year old man. The other three were taken to the hospital and are being treated from non life threatening injuries. The driver of the car has no mental problems and was not intoxicated. It was simply an accident turned bad.
How do you feel about several kids roaming the streets on Halloween? Do you think it's safe?
Do you think Anything could be done to prevent these mishaps?
My Opinion: I love Halloween and as a kid you love going out and getting free candy. But I think we need to make sure everyone is safe and make sure your kids know how to act and be safe.

Good summary but you didn't reply to any student comments.
I feel like people don't pay to much attention to their kids or when they are driving during that night. I've seen parents that just let their little kids just go and don't seem to watch them very well.
I don't think its safe, they should have an adult with them
It's too bad that something like this happened, and there isn't much you can do to prevent things like this from happening, but being more careful. I think that Halloween is safe, but things like this happen by accident.
I don't think that this accident could have been prevented because the people walking around was walking on the sidewalk like they should've been. If they were walking around in the street, than I would say that this accident was preventable but given the circumstances, I don't think that it was.
It's halloween, and things happen. It's sad they got killed, but it's not like the man purposely was trying to kill the children. I think if people are more careful and more aware of their surroundings, it would be safer, or if they made it so that no one is allowed to drive in town throughout the time of trick or treating.
Yes, I think it's safe. Just something like this can happen every once in a great while. I think on Halloween people need to be extra cautious to where their kids run about to prevent this.
