Fifty-something year old Billy Ray Harris was asking for money on the side of the street in Kansas City, Missouri, when Sarah Darling accidently put her wedding and engagement ring in his cup. She emptied her coin purse, but forgot she had placed her rings in there after they had been irritating her.
The next day the couple came back to find Harris, and he went to a near-by bridge where he had hidden the rings. The spouse started a fund for the homeless man and has raised about $174,000. He meets with Harris two to three times a week.

I think it was so kind that he kept the rings safe. I wonder if they would have went back a few days later Billy Ray would have turned them in for cash? I’m glad that the couple is going back to see him. What do you think about what the homeless man did?

This a great man, and he definitely deserves all the money after returning that ring.
I think it's sweet how they show their appreciation for him. They were pretty lucky that he still had kept the rings like that and didn't sell them.
It's awesome to see that even though this guy was homeless and could have sold the ring, he had the integrity to wait and see if the woman came back, and it looks like he was rewarded too.
It great to know that there are people out there like Billy Ray. I'm sure it would've been really easy for him to sell those rings, but he did the right thing and kept them safe until the woman returned. Its great that he's being rewarded for his good deed!
This is a really good gesture that he did! You would think that he would turn tem in for money, because I'm sure they are worth a lot! I also think it is good that the couple comes back and sees him and started a fund for him.
This is such an act of kindness on both parties parts!
I think it's awesome that he hid them and didn't just sell them. It's super nice that they helped him raise money too!
Just a heads up, there is already a discussion post on this subject
