A man walks into a bar and orders a glass of water. The bartender pulls out a shotgun, fires it and misses the man's head. The man puts down a tip and says 'thank you'.

Why.

hint-why would you order water besides being thirsty.

ive heard this riddle before. mr. leinen asked it to us on wednesday on our way back from atlantic. also ive heard it before then too. so ik the answer but i dont think ill spoil it for everyone else....
