Rewards at Restaurants for Students with Good Report Cards

Students can get freebies and discounts at restaurants because of a good report card. According to this article, students can earn six free glazed doughnuts or 3 donuts of their choice for good grades! Not all restaurants do this, it depends on the location so call the restaurant and ask before. Not only do restaurants do this, but many banks do as well. Many banks offer up to $10 per report card. At Chick-fil-A you can earn a free 8-pack of chicken nuggets or a free ice cream cone.

“What is a ‘good’ report card to these restaurants?”, you may ask. It varies on age, typically for 5th graders and younger straight A’s are required. For grades 6th-college, both A’s and B’s are considered good enough for a reward. With that, some restaurants even give rewards for perfect attendance, student achievements, etc. School, banks, and even car insurance companies offer students discounts as well. Allstate, Farmers, Amica and American Family are all insurance companies that offer high school and college students discounts.

Overall, you can get rewards from restaurants, car insurance companies, banks, etc. This is great for students from elementary school to college. It motivates all students to do better because who wouldn’t want free/cheaper food? This is especially great for teens and young adults who might be struggling to make a good paycheck while in school. For students online it’s hard for them to motivate themselves to do the work, so hopefully this is something to motivate them.

Do you think this will make an impact on student education. Why or why not?

  • Good topic choice and well done Sarah!

  • This sort of thing happened when I was in elementary at the Catholic school. After we would read a set number of books we would get a coupon for a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut used it to get kids reading but it makes sense that other companies would do this with grades.

  • I think that these restaurants doing these incentives gives kids and teens one more reason to do well in school. This would probably work really well in lower-income communities that way they are about to get some extra food for free. The lower insurance price is also nice so parents don't have to send as much.

  • I think that this would make some impact on children's attitudes toward education. Incentives make people work hard to get a prize. I think that this would be especially effective for younger kids. But I also think that it is important for children to realize that they have to work even if they aren't being rewarded every time.

  • Yes, I do think this will make an impact on student education. Kids will try harder in school and there grades will be higher due to really any kind of payment. I feel that if a kid thought They were going to get paid he or she would definitely try to preform better in school.

  • I think it definitely could help students to get motivated. Plenty of students don't care about getting good grades in school because they don't depend on going to college. But everybody will probably want car insurance whether you plan to go to college or not.

  • I think kids will try harder in school if they know they could get free food if they got good grades. I also think that the kids that don’t try hard in school now would try harder because they get food for their grades. Not only would kids be rewarded with some free food for getting good grades, but I bet their parents would also be extremely proud of their hard work, too. I think that it is fair that the elementary school kids have to get an “A” to be able to get the free food. The middle school and college kids can get both “A” ‘s and “B” ‘s to be able to get the food, since that work is more difficult than elementary school. I also think that it is an excellent idea for insurance companies to give discounts to students with good grades.  Car insurance is expensive and no matter if the student or parent is paying for this insurance, any savings would be a good thing. I definitely think kids will be motivated with free food or cheaper insurance and therefore, have an impact on student education.

  • I think also that kids may try harder in their school work if they are able to get free food from a restaraunt. Or maybe something a little better. I also think that with kids trying harder in school it will make the world a better place once them kids get jobs and the country will become better.

  • I think that this would make a major impact on student learning and educational purposes, the schools can entice the students with this deal about the restaurants, and the kids would want to eat at those restaurants too or even get a donut because who doesn't like donuts. It will help kids be more focused in the classroom if there is this out there to get free food or something else for a good report card.

  • i personally dont think that it will make an impact on the student education because the people that arent getting good report cards arent ganna try to get a good report card for a couple donuts or ten dollars from the bank just for getting a good grade in there classes
