1. Do you think the staffs actions were justified?

Honestly, no. Yes I understand that things like this help certin kids calm down from a melt down (which is diffrent from a tantrum) it should never be taken to this leanth. Their is a line that determines fine for safety of the child and others present, but in this case They went to far.

2.Do you think that special needs teachers for every school should be tought and tested on protocall for these situations?

Yes, these teachers, any S.P.E.D teachers or staff, or heck any staff in a school should know how to properly handle situations with special needs children. Being tested on this at least as often as any other safety drill. It's a nessesity to ensure not only the students safety but others as well.

  • Good topic choice! Your summary is very brief and be sure to capitalize key words in your title. You also only replied a couple of times. -5 late

  • I think that the staff should be fired for the way they acted towards an autistic kid. I agree that teachers should be trained for this just in case because you never know what could happen. Teachers need to know what to do and how to act when an event like this happen so we don't have something terrible like this happen again.

  • Of course no, they did not act correctly and they deserve punishment for such unthoughtful action. On my opinion we need to increase punishment for such crimes and so that people would percieve it ceriously and acted respectfully to each other. Definnitly they need to go through some kind of education or preparation to trully become this kind of teachers

  • I believe that staff should be fired from there jobs or even sent to jail because they were supposed to help them in situations like this but the kid died. It should be very inportant the the Staff to be trained for thing because the story is the example.

  • No because they should know how to deal with certain types of kids that have special needs and know to not do that kind of stuff. I think they should be because if an action they did caused a kid to die they should either just be fired or have to re learn all the skills needed for this job

  • It depends on how the kid was restrained. If the kid was restrained safetly and peacefully than I think that it was alright, but if not than the teachers at the school don't deserve another job. I think that the S.P.E.D. teachers should be trained in these situations because I think that handling them would be a major part of the job.

  • No, those teachers must be fired and this must be taken up by the police. If they killed an inoccent child, they deserve to be in jail for a long time. I think every special ed teacher should have to take specific class so they know what to do if the child is misbehaving.

  • I think the way they acted should have not been done, because it was obviosuly enough for the child to pass away. I do believe teachers should be trained for a specific event like this because it can happen at any time and teachers need to know when this happens and what to do at the moment.

  • I think there is justification for a death. If these people knew anything about people with special needs, they would know that most of them don't like to be touched and they don't like groups of people. Yes, I think everybody needs to know and understand how to deal with situations like this.

  • I think they took it to far obviously since the boy passed away from their actions. Yes I think that every teacher should at least be taught on what to do in situations like these, but most these kids should have a trained teacher to go with them to all their classes.
