The Cramer family of Indiana had recently rescued a Grayhound dog named Clobberhead from their local shelter. They were in love with Clobber the moment they brought him home. One day, the mother stayed home sick form work. Clobber was acting very strange running around the house up and down the stairs so she took him outside. They didn't make it ten feet before Clobber turned around and started pulling her right back towards the house. When she let him off the leash he raced yup the stairs so she went to follow him. She found him scratching at the laundry door and when she opened the door a cloud of gas engulfed her. Their water heater had sprung a leak and their actual furnace was sparking! If they didn't catch it, it would ignite and set their house and many around them on fire. She called the authorities and they came and took care of the problem quickly. Clobber had saved her family!
What do you think about rescue dogs? Would you adopt one? How do you think he found the leak in the first place? What are your other thoughts on this story?

Great job once again!
That is one smart dog! I know my dog isn't that smart. He probably smelled something that she didn't and the smell was bothering Clobber.
I think that dogs are getting smarter, and I'm happy that the house and family is okay. The dog did a good thing, but that's what he was trained for.
I would like to have a rescue dog. maybe he smelt the gas and looked for where it was coming from
Even though Clobberhead is a strange name, what this dog did is amazing.
This is an amazing story and I think that rescue dogs are great, but I don't think they are for everyone cause not everyone is a dog person. I think he found the leak by his senses cause dogs have really good senses.
I think rescue dogs are great. I would definitely adopt one. He probably sensed that there was a leak in the furnace.
I think it's great it stopped that from happening so i would considering adopting one.
Awh clobber!!!! How sweet. This is so cool, if they wouldn't have done a kind act, they wouldn't have had their home be saved. That is definitely karma in my opinion. Do you believe in karma Ms. Jess DuVal?
I do! Mostly we think of karma as something bad happening but in this case it was good! If they didn't adopt they might be without a home!
