We have all heard it a thousand times, “less guns equal less problems.” Its has to be true right? It makes perfect sense right? ACTUALLY it’s the exact opposite! Let me explain, guns in general are used for protection, hunting, and sport. You could argue they are used for attacking but in most cases nowadays people attack other people to protect their people.
For example, the Taliban attacked us on 911 so to protect ourselves from further attacks, we attacked them to try and stop it. Now if guns are used for any other purpose in Murica you will not be able to get one legally. There are already major background checks you have to go through to buy any gun. One major check I would like to point out is if you are a felon from literally any kind of offence, you lose the ability to buy any kind of gun.
Some people people will try to argue that there is such a thing as a gun show loophole where you can buy a gun from a gun show without background checks, that is very very false. If you are on either end of that transaction you can get serious jail time and licence revocation for not passing on a weapon to another person properly.
Guns are as secure as can be right now and without them, more people will die without being able to protect themselves. “Call the police” is what some people will say, well the average response time for the po po is about eleven minutes, and the average response time for a bullet is roughly nine hundred and fifty feet per second, give or take.
The only way for bad people to get a hold of guns in this country is to get them illegally like black market or back alley deals, they can be smuggled in by boat, plane or by mules across borders, and most of the time when crimes are committed with these weapons they have their serial numbers filed off or rifling fixed so they can’t be traced which is highly illegal and pointing towards weapon smuggling.
The people carry weapons legally are doing so to protect themselves from people with those kinds of connections. HOWEVER there is the incident in Las Vegas where a man legally obtained legal weapons from a legal place and had the right to own them, and yes, you are forced to take mental tests to obtain any serious weapon licences. So what happened there?
To be sure what happened to the man, we would have to have more evidence pointing towards a motive but with what we got, it ain't much. All we can assume is that he flipped out of nowhere for no reason. How can we prevent this, routine mental tests? Take all of the guns away?
Well what we can be sure of is that in any video footage of the shooting, we can clearly hear the brave men and women with concealed weapons shooting back at him, sure they didn’t have a good chance of getting him but they were trying and most importantly they were covering others so they could get away.
So if you take a step back you can see how having guns are a lifesaver and ironically if you take them away, we will be in more danger than ever before. The good citizens will be unarmed and the bad people will be left standing. Then what, talk to the shooter for eleven minutes until the paddy wagons pull up? So I ask you...
1. If you were in charge of gun control in America, what would you do?
2. Where do you stand gun control? likes/dislikes fan/not a fan Explain?
3. Do you think that carrying guns is a good thing?
4. Do you personally have any guns and do you like or dislike them?

I agree if you can handle a weapon properly and pass the proper checks than you should be able to carry a weapon to defend yourself. Same goes for hunting. You need to have the proper licensing.
1. I would take all guns away and not let anyone have one. only the army people.
2. I think right now it is too tight and needs to be loosened up a little.
3. I think everybody has the right to defend themselves.
4.I do not
If I were in charge of the gun control in America then I probably wouldn't change it because gun are not the problem. It's the people, you don't ever see a gun kill someone without a person behind the gun. It is in the Amendments that the people can have the right to the right to carry a bared arm. I believe that carrying a gun can absolutely be a good thing. It is a really good way to protect yourself from a dangerous person, or even animal. I personally do not have have a gun and I probably would never get one but I am not against them.
i think that if i was in charge of gun control id stay on the path we have going already and i really dont care for gun control do what you want with it i dont think that carrying guns willy nilly is good though i dont have any guns but i dont dislike them.
I'd try to make background checks even stricter. I don't know if you possibly can and I'd make the selling prices of weapons increase. I favor the people that have guns and use them correctly and don't feel that it's right to take away their weapons.
I would make the testing and background checks alot better than they already are. Im not a fan of gun control because people have there rights to own bare arms and to protect themselfs.
If I were in charge of gun control I would make it harder for people to get guns. Like more background checks and all that but I personal don't think that gun laws are the issue because the people that are involved with mass shootings have something wrong mentally so I think they would find another to get a gun. Sometimes it can be if they have a permit to carry because its another method of self defense but it can also be bad.
If I was in charge of gun control I would have a background check on everyone that would buy a gun and if they have something bad they cant buy a gun. I am not a fan because im a hunter and it is so fun to hunt and love it. Most people thing that guns are only good for killing people and they don think of the hunters. I dont think that it is a bad thing because it is self protection. I have a lot of guns and I would never use them for anything else but hunting.
If I was in charge of gun control I would make so that people would have to take a mental assesment to make sure they are not crazy. 2. I like guns and I feel they are very helpful.3 yes because then people can protect themselves. 4. yes I own a 22
If I was in charge of gun control I would try to make it harder for people with mental disabilities. I am a fan of having guns. I don't think they are the problem. Its the certain people that have guns are the problem. I think carrying guns is good if you go through classes and training. I do have guns and I do like them.
