Rebecca's Story

Rebecca was on her bike when a car hit her front wheel of her bike. She went through the passenger side window they say. 911 was called, but when they arrived rebecca was unconscious. They had her airlifted to the nearest hospital where she was taken care of in the ICU. Rebecca stayed unconscious for a month, but she finally came to consciousness. From there she had a long road of recovery ahead of her. Rebecca had made it through all of the recovery treatments but she still could not breathe through one side of her nose. In the accident she had a lot of broken bones in her face. They all healed correctly but there was a lot of scarring. When she would go to meeting for the government she didn't feel confident anymore. Rebecca set out to find a plastic surgeon to reconstruct her face to make it look better and make her feel confident again. She also had them get rid of some of the scarring from the accident. All the plastic surgery she had done took two whole surgerys. What she had done was dermabrasion, eye lift, facelift and chin lift. Rebecca also had fat injections put into the scarring to help fill out her face. The surgeon that did this plastic surgery for rebecca had her come in for a follow up apartment and she seemed happier he said she was glowing. Rebecca later said she finally felt comfortable in her own skin again. She said she felt like herself again that the old her was back. I think this is a good story to put up because people say plastic surgery is bad and that it couldn't be done but look what this plastic surgery did for this women. The plastic surgery gave her her life back and her self confidence.

If this happened to you would you get plastic surgery?

How would you feel when you woke up?

What would you be thinking for the whole month you were gone?

What would you do when you first woke up from being unconscious for a whole month?

  • Good job overall Gia! Good story! When you replied, you did very well but you could have replied more frequently.

  • I'm not exactly sure what I would do if an accident like this happened to me. I would most likely just keep myself the way I was, regardless of the scars, but I see why someone would want plastic surgery after something like this. If I woke up from being unconcious for a month, I would feel pretty out of it and feel like I missed a bunch of my life even though a month isn't super long.

  • 1.) I don't know whether or not I would get plastic surgery or not, it would depend on how I felt and I can't know that unless I experienced it. 2.) After being unconscience for a whole month I wouldn't know what to do. I feel like I would spend time with family before getting back to life.

  • Yes, If I was in a accident and it made my face deformed I would get plastic surgery. I would not want to feel or look ugly- I would want my old, normal face because I like my face for the most part. I would feel sad and probably in pain but I would be ok. It would all be crazy but I would get over everything.

  • See, there is a difference between Kim Kardashian plastic surgery and this womens plastic surgery. This women was insecure and seemingly depressed because of the accident and the marks it left. A car crash isnt going to cause a little scratch, it must have been pretty bad. By going through with the surgery, it may have been a way to move on from the car accident that she was constantly reminded of when she looked at herself. It was a way to forget. But famous people that get Plastic surgery are purely doing it just to compete to be the most beautiful. Beauty has been corrupted into this thing where if you dont have it, your suddenly not as good or better than other people. People that get plastic surgery for the heck of it dont need it. However, there are some cases like this where it is a way to cope.

  • It would depend on how I looked and how expensive it would be. If I didn't think I needed it or it was too expensive I wouldn't get it. I would be very scared and very confused. I don't know if people even think when they are unconscious. I would learn what happened, and where I would gp from there.

  • No I would leave all the scars and except the way I look and move on in life

Scared confused tryign to figure out what happened to me figure out where i am and figure out who i am if i dident remember

I wouldent be think because I would be unconsense

Ask my family what happened and just be happy i am alive and not dead

  • If this happened to me, I would get some sort of plastic surgery depending on how confident I was feeling or to what extent my injuries were. If it could give me confidence back, then I'd consider it. When I woke up, I would most likely feel pain and confusion, especially if I was in a coma for a month. I would immediately wonder what I had missed and what had happened while I was in the coma, and the first thing I would do when I woke from my coma would be to ask what had happened during that time.

  • i probably would get it just so don't look messed up and be back to the way I was before the accident had occured

    • You didn't answer all the questions. I also agree with getting the plastic surgery. Some people would think it's a bad idea but in this case it made someone feel better about their appearance. Also I think maybe she would want to see family and friends when she woke up. I mean if she was in a coma for a month I think she would want to know what she missed out on. I think also when she woke up she would want to eat I mean you can't eat when your in a coma for a month. She would also wake up very confused and probably ask a lot of questions.
