Rattle Snake Colony on Uninhabited Island

A plan established by the state of Massachusetts, said that they would put together a colony of endangered snakes on an off-limits island. People are worried that these snakes are going to escape the island and that the state is going to put the snakes in a public area and were they are going to breed. The snakes will have up to 1,400 acres of land to move around on so they are not worried about them getting off the island.

1. Do you think the snakes will escape the island?

2.  Why do you think that they are putting these snakes on an island?

  • Just as I said for the previous post, brief summary and while you replied a lot, it was all done on the same day.

  • I don't think they will escape because that is a lot of land just for them and the only way they would escape is if they can swim. And I think they're putting the snakes on that island so they can repopulate and become not so endangered.

  • probably no chance of escape unless they can swim. There putting them on the island to repopulate without interference.

  • I bet the snakes won't escape unless they could swim and even in that case it's still very unlikely. They are most likely put the snakes there to help them repopulate.

    • I agree, maybe in the future they might because of over population but yes, very unlikely.

  • This seems like a super weird plan. I'm sure it will work and I also think that it's a good idea to let the snakes live on an island, although I would be concerned about an overpopulation of the snakes and as you already mentioned them escaping.

    • In future years I agree, there will be over population but I think they'll move them if it does get too overpopulated.

  • I dont think the snakes will get off the island because I dont know where they would go if they were being isolated. But they have a chance of leaving. They are most likely putting these snakes on the island to keep them away from people, or to be doing research on them.

    • I don't think the snakes will get off the island either but if they get too overpopulated they might need to move some to another island.

  • I don't think the snake get off the island if there is enough of a supply of food for them. I think they are putting the snakes on this island to help prevent these endangered snakes of going extinct. They are trying to preserve all the species of snakes.
