Alyssa O'Neill died on September 4. She was only 18 years old. She had an epileptic seizure that was fatal. Before she died she wanted a Pumpkin Spice Latte. It doesn't sound like a lot but it turned out to be. Alyssa wasn't able to enjoy the seasonal beverage so her parents thought they could "pay it forward". At the local Starbucks they bought 40 Pumpkin Spice Lattes for costumers with #AJO, Alyssa's initials, written on it. It turned into this big deal. Random acts of kindness everywhere. Paying forward has become a big thing because of this. Alyssa's one craving and unfortunate death caused roughly 28,000 people to put forth some good into this world. Here is the link to the full story. My question to you guys is: when is the last time you guys did something good for the world? Where you didn't receive anything of gain. Do we do enough good in the world? Or what else can be done?

Emma-Great job on both posts! The questions you posed were very thought provoking! I thibk I do a lot of good for the world every day, but I do get paid for it. I could do more volunteering no doubt.
This is a good story despite it's tragic background... Personally, I haven't done any big achievements or huge acts of kindness like this- just some basic stuff... anyway-great story.. happy to hear there's some good in the world still...
I agree it's a heartwarming story to hear, but yes it is bitter sweet.
That's awesome! (: I have never heard someone doing this before. It's awesome. I should try it sometime. :)
This is another of those happy/sad stories. It really makes you think, doesn't it? You're a nice person but would you do this, would you really do this? This is a great story that makes me want to be a better person. I am upset that she never got to try the latte, but I am happy that people are starting to take notice and pay it forward.
Paying it forward is a wonderful technique. But I probably wouldn't do it with a gesture like this but if someone is kind to you, be kind to someone else and hope the pattern continues.
While its sad that she had to pass away, it's good to here something good that has come out of it. I think these random acts of kindness are great and I really hope that they will be continued! I think it's important that we all work on being more kind towards others because it can really make a difference in our world.
I completely agree if everyone just puts forth a little niceness the whole world could be a better place!
This is a touching story. It is nice to see people supporting the family in this tough time. This makes me realize how one small action of kindness can be such a big deal.
I think it's nice to know that by doing something nice, even if it's small, that it can cause more nice things to happen.
