Prepare for cuteness overload: Uber delivers kittens

Yes, you read that correctly, Uber, a well known taxi app, is coming out with uberKITTENS, that works with local shelters between 11am and 3pm to deliver kittens to cat lovers. The local shelters are giving kittens a chance to find life-long homes. ASPCA recalls that about 7.6 million animals (3.9 million dogs and 3.4 million cats) enter shelters. Of the cats, approximately 37% are adopted, 41% euthanized and less than 5 percents of cats who came in get returned to their owners.

UberKITTENS gives Uber users an option to pay $30 to have a 15 minute visit of quality cuteness time.

  • I think that this app can be successful because it can give viewers a chance to really think about if they're ready to adopt a pet or not. They may think that the animals are cute, but after a while they may realize that maybe owning a pet is something that they're not ready for.

  • I think it is great because it give animals that dont have a home or someone to play with now they can,

  • I think it's great that they are giving kittens this chance at getting adopted and that it could raise a lot of money. It's great for people that want a pet, but can't afford it or have the time for one. I hope it works out.

  • I think it is a nice idea and is a great chance for the kittens to find a new home, but I don't think it would work very well because not a whole lot of people want to see a kitten for just 15 minutes. People usually keep their pet for their entire life. I understand the concept of getting the cat out to potential owners, but if someone is looking to own a cat they will go out and find one themselves.

  • I think it's a great way to raise money and find homes for cats, as long as they are going to safe homes. I think it will work until a cat is treated cruelly.

  • i think its pretty cool that they came up with this technology, I hope that this technology works

  • I think this is really cool and could even promote the adoption of shelter animals all around the world. Plus, if people could spend time with a kitten and see how sweet one could be, they might actually adopt one. This is a great idea, and I think it will work out. People will see this new app and be interested so they might test it out. Then, if they like it, they will refer it to others, and if the others like it, they'll refer it to other others and on and on. Basically, this idea will keep spreading around the world, and hopefully, more kittens and other animals will start to be adopted from shelters.

  • I think that it will work, and I hope that it does. Uber is a popular taxi app, as you stated, and people might want to download uberkittens and see what it is like.
