You think mannequins are too skinny? Well not anymore.
A mall in Caracas, Venezuela has pregnant mannequins that are dressed in schoolgirl uniforms. These are lined up in windows of stores and it's scaring and creeping out many customers. Of course there is a important motive behind the shocking mannequins. The organizations are trying to bring attention to the rapidly increasing rate of teen pregnancy. According to the recent U.N. data there is one underage girl getting pregnant every three minutes in South America.
After getting many rude complaints and different reactions from customers, the organizations are hoping to encourage parents to have discussions about "unprotected relations" with their kids, and eventually slow the rate of teen pregnancy.
Do you think this will help decrease teen pregnancy? Why or why not
What would your reaction be if you were a parent walking by a pregnant schoolgirl mannequin with your children?

Very interesting story and well done!!
Yes because if it scares them then maybe it will scare them about getting pregnant. If I were a parent I would be horrified by the fact that teen pregnancy is that popular of a thing that we need to send messages like this.
It could help, sometimes all you have to do is show what can happen. I probably wouldnt think much of it if I was just walking by, but if it bothered me I would probably speak to management.
I don't think a mannequin will help teens not get pregnant. teens will do what they want
Depends if the girls listen or they just go their own way. If they parents keep their kids in place and track them all the time.
It think it will decrease.
I think it will help them realize how much it changes things to be pregnant and it will decrease the amount of teen pregnancies.
I think that this has a chance of making a difference, but some people might actually hate this idea. I know if I was a parent and saw this I wouldn't be suprised seeing as the pregnancy rate is really high, at least this might make a difference.
I thin it will increase the amount of under aged pregnancy, because its like putting cool looking shoes in a store window. If that store has a good reputation someone might buy them, but if the store has those mannequins like that with a good reputation, maybe the store is making it worse.
I agree more parents need to make talking about this a necessity.
