What is poverty? Poverty is when you are in the state of being extremely poor.In the word around 1.89 billion people live in extreme poverty. Which is nearly 36% of the world's population, nearly half of the population in developing countries lives on less then $1.25 a day.
In the United States the poverty rate overall is 9.2% with the rate for white, non-Hispanic people at 15.2%, and the rate for Hispanic people at 13.8%. There are also 553,742 homeless people in the United states. The United States has a small amount of extreme poverty compared to third world countries. The poverty rates have almost doubled in the Middle East and North Africa between 2015-1017, going from 3.8% to 7.2% which is mostly because of the crises in syria and yemen. Extreme poverty can be caused by a lack of jobs or not having land to plant on often due to weather, climate change, and overpopulation. Due to covid it is expected that 88 million to 115 million people will be pushed into extreme poverty.

I honestly don't really know how we can help because even with charity or by volunteering with some organizations you end up hurting those communities or not making an actual difference. Maybe adopting kids by sending money to their families every month can be helpful but it still depends on the organization you do this with.
I think that we could be handling this issue by putting money into these low-income communities. Having social programs to help these people get back on their feet with a place to live would be extremely helpful. Most of these people just need a little guidance and support.
I think poverty is a very bad thing but I don't feel that we should be giving them free handouts that they could be spending on bad things like drugs. instead we should be giving them oportunitties that allow them to have better paying jobs so they can live without getting money from other people.
I think we should just help people in poverty through new programs. Equality is something we need now more than ever, and making sure that everyone can live on their own comfortably would be a good first step. I think it would just be a matter of getting confortable there. It doesn't sound nice, but this where these people are living so they have to make the best they can out of it.
I think we could definitely help by giving jobs and education to the people who are living in poverty. It doesn’t have to be a high paying job, it just has to be something to get them back on their feet. Then they can move up to a high paying job to help decrease poverty in the end.
I think that we can help decrease poverty if we start giving people living in poverty jobs and education. I think that they should be willing to work, but should also be assisted in finding a job and getting that job. I don't think I could live where some of these people live, I would try to get out of that situation.
I think that we could help poverty by helipng them get jobs. Businesses need to include the homeless. Some jobs they could be given is maintenance workers, housekeepers. They just need something to kickstart the turning point of their lives.
I don't know how we could help with povery and I think that it's sad that we have all of these people who live in these terrible living conditions and not knowing how to help them. I don't think I could because I know how bad the living conditons are and I don't know if I could imagine what it's like to live their.
I don't think poverty is something we can just magically fix, otherwise it would have happened already. Many people volunteer there time and work at different shelters and give out food. I think people need to continue to volunteer and find more ways to build more homeless shelters and find more jobs.
I think to truely prevent poverty you need to teach people a certain skill that will put them somewhere in the world where they can start making money and eventually make a living for themselves and they're family. Giving out free will money is a terrible idea and should've never been considered. If you give people money they won't do nothing but sit around and wait for more.
