Plant Based Ice Cream

A company called Impossible Foods was able to create a plant based ice cream that apparently taste good. They first created a plant based burger that can “bleed”, so the idea of doing the same with ice cream seemed easy to them. Eclipse Foods wants to create more sustainable and humane food systems. They created a milk replacer with a mix of ancient corn, potato, cassava, oats, canola oil, cane sugar and water.  This dairy free ice cream taste just the same as a normal the dairy version would according to taste testers. They plan to come out with more flavors and more humane foods in the future.

  1. Would you ever try the dairy free ice cream?
  • I think I would try it just to see if it tasted the same as normal dairy ice cream. I don’t know if I would switch to always eating the dairy free ice cream.
  1. What other foods do you think they can create?
  • There is a lot of vegetarian style foods that cut out all animal ingredients, but I don’t think it will ever taste the same as the real stuff. I think they could create any food it just would not taste as good.

  • Good job overall! You could have replied a bit more frequently.

  • To be honest, there isn't anything I wouldn't try. So I would be down to try this new dairy free icecream. I don't know if I would like it or not, but if I did and it was better for you than normal icecream i would consider to switch. There are a lot of foods that they could potentially make, it just deends on how many people are going to eat if and how much profit they are going to make off of it.

  • They can create anything they want to there is no one stoping them from doing it so ya. They can try it but it no one likes it no one will ever want to have it agian like i dont like some sea food that i will never eat agian.

  • I would not like to try it becasue there will be no dairy in the ice creen and that is what is in all them right now so no and right now i do not know what would be in the no dairy ice creen if i knew all what was in it i might try it.

  • If they were to create other foods, to grow their company I believe that they should create more food that tastes like meat and have the same benefits of eating real meat. They could also create a new kind of food that is not made by any part of an animal. If they re to make new food it should be advertised to kids so that they can eat healthy.

  • I think that you can create any food you want if you try hard enough and just don't think about what is different about it, however, I think that for people who don't want meat they are going pretty far, like making it bleed, to be more meat-like.

  • I would try dairy-free ice cream, however, I am all about meat and dairy products and would never just only have dairy-free products in my house. I don't think that I would like it as much as regular because I am a picky eater.

  • I don't think I would just based on the fact that I don't believe in plant based artifitial foods. I think that theit options are limited to simple ingredietns that can mimic flavor of foods.

  • 1. - I would try this ice cream just to see what it was like. If it's actually good it could spread as a trend maybe and become something that many people like, but of course you won't know until you try it which is why I would like to try it.

    2. - I would like see them try to make more meat foods into plant based items, like what Burger King is doing with their "Impossible Whopper". If they made steak and chicken into something plant based I'd find that pretty fascinating. I'm not a vegetarian, so not sure if I'd like them or even try those but for now I'll stick with the ice cream.

  • I would try it because there is no down side of trying it, but I would only change to the dairy free ice cream if it was better than regular dairy ice cream. I think that they could create any food that they want, but the problem is making the new food taste like the original food.
