Do you eat pineapple on pizza? Let's dig in to know the statistics and history of it
Despite being called the Hawaiian pizza it is actually first created in Canada in 1962. Sam Panopoulos, the creator of the pizza, thought to add canned pineapple to his pizza, not knowing that it would become a huge success. Why did it become a success? Well, no one really knows for sure, but they think that it reminded people of the tiki craze that happened in 1959. The name Hawaiian come into play when Sam Panopoulos saw on the can that it said Hawaiian.
82% of people surveyed by YouGov said that they actually like pineapple on pizza, while 29% said that they hated the idea. 53% liked the idea of fruit being on pizza in general, and 12% said that they disliked it. Another Survey said given by Slice, 54% of people didn't like the idea of pineapple being on pizza, While 46% thought it was a good idea. At least the idea of pineapple being on Pizza was more acceptable than strawberries!
You may be wondering, why do people like pineapple on pizza, and a way that it could be considered " acceptable". One reason is the sweet and saltiness balance. The sweetness of the pineapple and the saltiness of the ham, sauce, and cheese balance each other out. On the flip side, some people say that it is just too juicy and they don't like the sweetness with the pizza.
Personally, I really like Pineapple on pizza and so does my sister, but my brother, on the other hand, hates the texture. Whatever you pick, that is up to you and that is your preference.

I agree with you 100%! It is very superior to me, but it is exotic, so some may not like it. and that's ok!
I do not like pineapple on pizza because pineapple is a fruit and does not belong on pizza. I like all normal pizza toppings like cheese, beef, ham, sausage, and some others. Fruit should not be put on any pizza because a hot cheesy, spicy thing does not need any fruit because it just ruins it.
While I understand where you are coming from, I still like it, and that's okay because we can all think what we want to think.
I like pineapple on pizza. I think that chicken bacon ranch is the best kind of pizza on the Earth and there is really no debate. To be fair I like all kinds of pizza except for the like taco pizza which is just a terrible combination and is truly the worst thing possibly ever.
Your right, taco pizza, in my opinion, does taste a little weird, but I understand that everyone has there own opinions.
pineapple by itself is a sin to humanity. It should only be considered as a place where animate sponges should live. I cannot think of a single reason why you would put a poorly textured fruit on something that is generally a chewing object. Terrible choice by the Canadians, we overtook Hawaii because we thought they made this pizza but now that we know it's the Canadians we should start our assault soon.
Pineapple, in my opinion, tastes amazing by itself and on pizza, Just because it is on Spongebob, doesn't mean that it is bad. Why the assault though? I mean, we are already almost there with Russia and Ukraine
I haven't tried pineapple on pizza, but I don't think I would like it. I am a very picky eater and putting fruit on pizza sounds gross to me. I only like a few things on my pizza like pepperoni or beef. I don't think any fruit belongs on pizza.
While I disagree with you, as do the statistics, most people commenting agree with you, it all depends on the person, and what they were raised with.
I personally really enjoy pineapple on pizza... its honestly a great combo... My whole family and I find it to be very good. I would have to say that my favorite topping on pizza would be either pepperoni or bacon. Great topic choice by the way! :)
