Capt. Henry Skillern, 63 was having a heart attack while in flight. The first officer took over the controls and landed them in Boise, Idaho. 161 Passengers got a little frantic when a flight attendant asked if anyone was a physician. They did chest compressions while in flight, landed, and the pilot was hauled off to Boise Saint Alphonsus Hospital and later died there. The FAA is debating on the age limits for commercial airline pilots.
What do you could help to keep this from happening?

You could take medicine so it prevents it from happening or just don't do stuff like that.
Age limits would be good, but being old doesn't mean your going to have one so health background checks would be the best option.
There's not much I think that can be done to help this... You can't predict something like this with a 100 percent certainty...
this will definatley rile up some people to want more health check on the operationers such as pilots.
That would be a really scary situation. There honestly would be no surefire way to prevent this from happening, but the best way to minimize the risk would probably be having health screenings fairly often.
Yes, regular check ups and tests would help spot bad things before that would happen.
I do think that there should be a limit on the age of pilots. They should also be checked for signs of things like a heart attack more occasionally than other people. It's also just a great thing to have other people on the plane that are capable of driving and operating an airplane. I would have to say that the people on the plane are very lucky because this could have made a turn for the worst. It's just good that there were other people there doing their jobs correctly.
They should have made sure that his health was in good condition. Age may not have been the problem.
This is sad that he wasn't able to be saved but it is good that the co pilot was able to land them to safety. It is also kind of scary that this could happen while you are in a plane flying but they probably have precautions set up to make sure nothing bad happens.
