In the past, physicists have used Earth’s gravitational pull and the seismic waves of the planet to determine Earth’s mass and density. But recently, tiny subatomic particles called neutrinos have been used to find this information. These particles have the ability to pass straight through the entire planet. The neutrinos have given physicists the ability to look inside the Earth and study places inside the planet that were not visible in the past. More specifically, the particles are useful to scientists because they allow them to learn more about the differing density in Earth’s layers. This is a big step forward because if neutrinos can be used to study the Earth, they can also be used to study other planets. This will be especially useful because it will allow scientists to determine the makeup of other planets.

I think that it’s important to understand the Earth’s layers because it can help scientists understand natural disasters like earthquakes more. This means that we can predict them more accurately so people can better prepare themselves.
Would you consider a career where you innovate new ways to study the Earth? Why?
Yes. I think that innovating new ways to do things and learning about things that haven’t been studied before sounds very interesting. It also would be a rewarding field to work in because you are making advancements in science.

Things are always changing so it is good for people to watch what is happening to the earth. I wouldn't want to do that because even through the earth is changing it is changing very slowly and there wouldn't be that much to watch all the time.
I think it is important to learn further information about Earth and it's layers because then they can learn more about why tsunani, hurricanes, earthquakes and things like that happen and how to maybe prevent more of them to not occur.
This could be very important for finding important things about the earth crusts such as materials that could be used in things such as nuclear reactors. I don't think so. Science isn't something I am too interested in, but it doesn't mean that it isn't important.

I think its important number one because its our home and number to if they weren't studying it we wouldn't know how we can help or not help. I dont think i would go that way it not something im fond of but i really hope there are others out there that are.

It is very important because it tells us why things are happening around the world and why we have different weather changes. No I would not. I don't think studying the earth would be very fun for me to study. I don't like learning science.
