Pete Buttigieg ends his bid for the Presidency

After several months and a historic presidential candidacy, the 38-year old former mayor from West Bend, Indiana has dropped out of the presidential race. Pete Buttigieg is an openly gay Navy Reserve veteran, and he has been coming in third with overall delegates, right behind former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. On Sunday night Buttigieg addressed his supporters and thanked them for the campaign they helped to build, saying that the effort to "usher in a new generation of politics will continue." Many people are starting to suspect that he did this only in a last ditch bid to help Joe Biden overtake Bernie Sanders.

What do you personally think of Pete Buttigieg and his leaving the Presidential race?

Personally I am not sad to see Mayor Pete leave the race as he had several billionare donors.

Do you think that Pete Buttigieg has inspired other LGBTQ people to strive for public offices like the Presidency?

I think that he has probably inspired some people to shoot for the stars in American politics.

  • 1.) I think it was wrong of him to drop out of the Presidential race because the United states needs a younger, brighter person running as president,

2.) I think that he has because most of the LGBTQ people are standing with him when he was in the Presidential race and standing with him that anyone can run for President.

  • I think he is making a good decision by dropping out because he wasn't doing good and I think he knew he wasn't gonna win the race anyway so I don't blame him for dropping out of the race. I think he has inspired some people because everyone has dreams and hopes for something and I'm sure he probably wanted to make a point that you can always shoot for the stars.

  • I am not sad either, he has plenty of money and doesn’t need more necessarily. I definitely think that he is a role model for many people out there and I think it was very brave and good. He inspires also those, who are more likely insecure and in my opinion he set a statement in the policy.

  • I think Pete left the race because he knew there was nothing left for him in the race and he wasn’t going to win. I don't think that he has inspired just the lGBTQ group but also many other groups to overcome there differences and stand up for what they believe in. I don't think that his sexual preferences have any say in whether he is inspiring people or not.

  • I think that it was good for Pete to drop out of the presidential race beacuse he was not going to win and there is a lot of democratic candidates. So if the democratic candidates do not want to go to the convention some candidates need to drop out.

  • I'm not upset about him dropping out he had alot of support while he ran

I think he has and i feel like he was trying to send a message to anyone that can shoot for the starts

  • I think he is making a good decision by leaving becuase he wansnt doing that good and knew he wasnt gonna win the race so i dont blame him for droping out. I bet he hasinspired people because everyone can have dreams and hopes for stuff they beleive in and he probable wanted to make a point.

  • I agree, he didnt have to drop out because he had many sponsers but I think that he just knew that he was not going to win and he wanted to help Joe Biden because he thinks he could beat trump. I agree, I think that he has inspired mnay people.

  • Good topic choice but be sure to reply more grequenlty and on three different days. -5 late  -5 for doign a story that had already been done.

  • I think Pete Buttigieg rpobably did inspire other LGBTQ people to strive for public offices. He could have really gotton somewhere in this election. Most likely not actually being elected, but making a major name for himself by being one of the last ones standing.
