Pete Buttigeig has dropped out of the Democratic presidential race this Sunday night. Pete had stated to his followers that, “he no longer saw a path to victory and that he had a responsibility to consider the effect of remaining in this race any longer.” Buttigeig talked about how his goal was to “unify” the Democratic Party against Trump and that they would win with their values. Pete said that he had started this journey with a staff of four, no big email lists, no personal fortune and how little almost none knew his name. His concerns began to rise when he only won 3 percent of black voters in South Carolina stating that “the campaign saw a very, very narrow path.” Even though he was so youthful he appealed to many older and white people. No one really knows where his followers will now go since he’s dropped. Pete was an Afghanistan war veteran who was looking to become the first openly gay nominee. He won an “impressive” victory in Iowa and lost in New Hampshire which are two prominlety and overwhelming white states. It began to fall apart in diverse areas such as Nevada and South Carolina. The Iowa victory made history ad he was the first openly gay and melenial candidate. He will end his campaign with 26 delegates.

Do you think Buttigeig should have kept going even though there wasn't a great outlook?
I believe he should have possibly kept going just to see how it turned out because you never know, it could have ended up going very well.
Why do you think he appealed to older white people instead of the younger and diverse?
I think it was because of the different things he said that the youth may not have been such big fans of but it gained the interest of the older generation.

I think that Buttigeig should not have stayed in the presidental race, because we new that he probably would not have won anyways and he would have just taken the votes away from others. I agree with you about the things he said might apeal to the elderly and not the youth.
No, I think it was a good idea for pete to drop out of the presidental race because he wasnt doing so hot and Bernie was winning a lot more than everyone else at the moment, I do think that if he would be helping everyone insted of just young people he would do better
Good topic choice and well done overall. Be sure to comment a few more times and also comment on three different days. This topic had already been done -5. -5 late
I believe he should have stuck out the election so see where it would have gotten him but that in my opinion, I think he could have won the election. I personally think that older people understood more than the younger so it seemed more appealing to the older than the younger.
I think that if he just kept on trying and not just quit he would've had a chance at winning the election. I feel like he didn't really try and didn't give it any effort. I also think that sinse he is gay, he might of not made it as far as some of them only because lots of people don’t support.
no because he was longshot to win and would have been a was of time and a lot of people do not suport gays. because the older people under stood him and would know what he is talking about not like younger people.
I personally think he should have kept going so he could see how the election ended for him instead of dropping out he could have possibly won the election if he stayed but he didn't. What I think is that older people understand more than the younger because the older have lived longer and know what's going on and that's probably why he appealed to old men than younger.
I agree, if he would have just kept trying and pushing there was a possible outcome that he could win, but with how he had done on Tuesday there was almost no chance in him winning because of that. I agree, the older generation may understand his point of view better than some of the younger people.
No because sometimes you need to face the fact that you are not going to win and just call it quits. and we need to get down too two people so then we can get a president. I think because younger people did not under stand what he was trying to undersand what he was saying.
I agree in a way, with how he did on Tuesday his chances of winning were very slim so at that point he had almost no chance in winning. I agree we need to get down to two people so we can determine a president. I also think that the younger people just did not understand or agree with what he was saying as much as the older people did.
