Peta. We all know it, and either love them or absolutely hate them. Contrary to popular belief they have some pros, and I'm going to go through them.
First off we need to know what PETA stands for. It stands for People for Ethical Treatment for Animals. Their goal is to basically to stop animal domesticity, basically to stop people from having animals as pets, or animals in zoos. They also have other goals. But everyone has heard them. Help abused animals, stop animal breeders, etc.
Peta also has many downsides at the same time when they aren't thinking of themselves as superheroes. First off if they "rescue" an animal from a home that is abusing it the animal is usually kept in a cage, or euthenized. If a stray cat is caught by them it is spayed/neutered then released. They have also tried releasing ad campaigns, some of which failed for one reason or another, or the one below is spitting false information.

Good topic choice Alex but your summary is quite brief. PETA deserves more expecially with all the controversy surrounding them. You didn't comment to any student comments which is worth 30 points.
I think PETA is good in the fact of how it helps with animals that are kept in zoos and people keeping wild animals as pets. A lot of times I think PETA takes away pets for dumb reasons and then puts them in cages. Dogs aren't humans and they act like we should treat them as such.
I don't know much about PETA but I think their goal is a good thing. I think the things that they are doing are not so great. I don't think that we need to shut it down but we definitely need to get more control on what they are doing to animals. Give them a new way to run things.
I feel that PETA's original messege and purpose to stop animal abuse is a great thing. But, I do think that the people who are running PETA have gone way out of control. Their methods are also extremely flawed. They have used their platform to spread blatantly false information. I do think it is time that the United States government shut down the PETA organization.
In my opinion PETA is very... not needed. I think that these people may feel strongly in their hearts about this topic but I do not think that it's a big enough deal to have this sort of organization They are very extreme and un-needed.
PETA is not a good organization. I think that they have the right place in their hearts to try and help, but the thing is it is in their hearts and doesn't come out in the end. Therefore I believe that it should be shut down. I think the government should try and shut them down for they are doing more harm then good
PETA is a horrible organization when bringing back an abused animal they pretty much abuse their right to be free by keeping them in a cage animals deserve love and to be able to roam and be free. They should find loving homes for them and should not euthenize animals because they can't find a home in a small certian amount of time.
As someone who has raised livestock all my life I absolutly HATE PETA. They have no real knowlege of the way anything is done around any livestock operation. The fact that they even think of saying that we abuse the pigs in the barn is absolutley false. Most farmers treat their livestock as pets. Although in the end, usally they are etheir killed for food, bred, or milked, we still take care of them like pets. The only thing PETA has done is made it harder of us as producers to raise livestock. I could go on about all the problems they have but that would take to long.
I don't think PETA is helpful. They don't do a very good job trying to make their ideas happen. They have good intentions but they're practicing it the wrong way. They want to reduce animal abuse but no one is going to want to give up their animals and especially to complete strangers just for it to be euthenized or put in a cage.
PETA's goals make sence, but the way they exucute those plans are just awful. Whats the point of saving an animal if you are just going to kill it or set it free again. I feel that the government should shut PETA down because they are not even helping with what they were trying to do, PETA might just be causeing more bad than good.
