On Tuesday, December 24, A research ship got stuck in ice while trying to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the same journey led by an Australian man by the name of Douglas Mawson. When the ship got stuck everyone on board was in good condition and there was no sense of an immanent threat. Many different vessels like a Chinese ship, a French flag ship, and an Australian supply ship tried to reach the research vessel, but all were subdued by either strong wind, heavy snow, or they simply couldn't penetrate the ice.
Then, After nine days of effort to rescue the group, a Chinese helicopter reached the crew an their passengers and successfully rescued every one of them. The chopper escorted them to the Australian supply ship, where they would stay for the remainder of the trip.

How would you feel if you were one of the passengers in that situation? Would you want to wait and see if the crew could break the ice and keep going? Or would you want to get off the ship and get home ASAP?

Good job Ben!!
I too would be freaking out a lot, but in honor of the 100th anniversary of the expedition, I would want to keep going.
If I was in a situation like this, I would panic. I would wanna get home as fast as I could and not be comfortable and content til I knew I was safe.
I think that that would be a scary situation to be in. There are lots of movies and stories about getting stranded at sea and they wouldn't help the situation.
They should defiantly not push there luck in my opinion they should all get home to there families but if this trip is what they are passionate about who am I to try to stop them they just need to make sure they do not risk the lives of others
I probably would want to see if the crew could break the ice and then keep going.
I would freak out and want to get off as soon as possible!
I would definitely be scared, your in a location that is not very accessible. I think its good they stay put, they could have damaged the ship if they tried to keep going. I would want to get off after the second day.
That's Interesting Cade, you're they only person that had a different view on the situation that I've seen so far in the discussion.
I am glad no one got hurt. I would have stayed and helped bread the ice and continue the event: 100th anniversary. I would have felt responsible in completing the "mission" to the best of my ability, even if that meant going through ice.
