The well known pizza franchise Papa John's is facing a $250 million dollar lawsuit, for sending illegal text messages to their customers without asking if they can send advertisements to them. Many customers say that they were sent anywhere from 10 to 15 text messages in a row sometimes in the middle of the night. According to the telephone consumer protection act of 1991. All companies are not allowed to send advertisements via text message without the consumers consent. What are your thoughts on this topic? I personally think that Papa Johns shouldn't have been sending those text messages especially in the middle of the night. I wouldn't be a happy camper if that happened to me.

Well, if you think about it how did they get their numbers in the first place? because really, if the people gave papa johns their number its their own fault. papa johns isnt running on their schedule, and its not that big of deal. the people are probably just doing it for the money involved.
I think that it is kind of weird that the took someones number and texted the advertisements. And in the middle of the night?
Ya i agree that they shouldn't have sent those text messages i mean nobody wants to get a bunch of advertisements sent to there phone. I am amazed that Papa Johns did this because i didn't think they had any problems but maybe they are.

Are you serious!?! That's ridiculous! It's annoying getting e-mail advertizements and forwards but ads on your phone and in the middle of the night?!! That's just crazy I hope they have to pay more because that's just common sence that you should ask!
Shame on them, why would they be doing something they know is wrong? It must be wierd and annoying to keep getting text messages from them. Bad choices lead to dire consequences. I hope nobody else does that to get there company in trouble.
I think that this is kinda creepy and that i would get annoyied with my phone just goinng off over and over

Is that seriously what it has come to? First, Youtube, every 2 seconds is a new ad. I understand they need funding. But that is rediculous that a Real Big money making thing, such as Papa John's resorts to this. Wow.
I wouldn't want a bunch of text being sent durning the night that were just advertisement. I don't know why Papa John's would send 15 advertising text messages in a row anyways.
