On November 30th, 2021, a 15-year old sophomore student opened fire at Oxford Highschool in Michigan. Ethan Crumbley, the shooter, killed 4 students and wounded 7 others in his attack on the school. Reports have been made that Ethan had his attack planned out. there were notes in his journal saying he wished to massacre his classmates. Hours before the attack, the school admin and Ethan's parents had a meeting discussing Ethan's recent behavior. Many of the survivors of the attack have said that Ethan was bullied at school.
I think this attack could have been avoided if students had tried to be friends with Ethan or had at least been a little nicer to him. Obviously, this does not justify what Ethan did and nothing ever could and he most likely had some type of mental illness. I think we can use this shooting as an example of why bullying is a serious issue and nobody should feel alone. A lot of recent shootings have been done by students who were bullied in school

Good topic choice but your summary is quite brief as tis is a big story with lots of information coming out. Also be sure to comment a few more times.
I believe that if the teachers and staff of the school would have taken his behavior and what he posted on social media, the shooting could have been avoided. The school and the parents knew that something wasn't right with Crumbley or his behavior, so why didn't they take action? This could have prevented yet another school shooting in the U.S. which is known and mocked by other countries for having many school shooters.
I think that the shooting could have 100% been avoided. I think that his parents could've done more to keep the gun safe and out of his grasp. I think that it is a shame that this happened. He took young lives that had a lot of potential. I think everyone should've been nicer also.
Yes, I do think that this school shooting could have been avoided if he would have got help as soon as he started having mental health issues or when the school reached out. It is super unfortunate that he was bullied at his school but the answer to his problem was not to hurt anyone.
I think that It could have been avoided if his parents acutally would have talked to him about his mental health and if they could have just done somthing to talk him out of it or if they would'nt have bot the thing in the first place so yes I think that it could have been avoided.
I agree with you that the parents did a poor job.
Yes I think it could of been avoided if his parent payed more attention and watched his behavior. This is a very unfortunate deal and it could of been avoided. If I was the parents he would of been off to find help when he started showing depression.
I agree this deal can be partly blamed on his parents.
To be honest, I don't personally know much about the background story behind this or the case itself, but a situation like this is always avoidable. I understand where a bullied kid is coming from but there is no excuse to take the lives of innocent people.
I agree these situations are always avoidable.
