Overpopulation

Is there anything we can really do about overpopulation?

The earth right now has over 7.8 billion people on it and increases ever single day.Its increasing by about 80 million per year. By 2100 it is assumed that we will have a estimated amount of 10.8 billion.Because of todays new technology, medicine, and general hygine we are living a lot longer and growing in size to fast.

One of the reasons we are populating to fast is becasue of girls lack of education.About 15 million girls arnt attending school past the grade of 8. If we had more education these girls would delay the rate of child birth at such a young age and would be focusing on school. If education is provided it would mean that these young women woudnt be marrying at such a young age.

Some effects of overpopulation right now is with all the people it is causing a huge climate change.there will be more increased conflicts throughout the countries.some reasons why we are going into this pandemic stage is because of all the humans are destorying wildlife habitats. How exactly are we supposed to social distance when we have a whole 7,8 billion people on this planet?

What are some things that can be done?

How can we provide and encouage these woman to provoke school.

  • This is a great topic choice but also a huge topic asnd one that is hard to do well in three short paragraphs. I know that your second paragraph confused some students. You are correct with what you are sayinbg but need to expand and mention that this is happeneing in third world countries(you do mention this in one of your replies). Also be sure to comment back to students more frequently.

  • I don't think there is anything that can be done about overpopulation. The only way to stop climate change is moving to another planet as I have heard some scientists say. I don't think that girls lacking education is the problem at all because there is almost zero similarity.

  • I don't think that anything can be done about overpopulation. Maybe some high demand jobs could be moved to less populated places, like Montana, or maybe some people could be moved to a different planet in the future. I think that even if schooling was provided some people still wouldn't go because they don't want to or it is hard for them to get there.

  • I believe that there is nothing that can be done about overpopulation. Maybe in the future we could be able to live on another planet, but that will be far from now. I do not think that girls lack of education has anything to do with it because I don't see any correlation.

  • I think that I am going to have to agree with the previous reponces. I do not think that the lack of education for females is the issue. I think that there is a bit of truth in it, but not because of the lack of education it is just what some girls are forced to do in some countries.

  • I don't think lack of schooling is a solution or a problem, I'm not sure what a good solution is but I know that that wouldn't help much. If at all, it was a good try though. I think it is a problem though

  • I do not think that the main reason for over population is girls "lacking education." I think that those words factually don't make sense. I think that just because some women are exposed to higher ends of education does not mean that leads to pregnancy and over population. I don't think at all that this issue should be pointed or directed at women.

  • I think we should find a way to live on a different planet, but we would need to have technological and scientific advancements to achieve that. We can give them facts about the current girls/women about how they are raising the population rapidly and educate them plus bring them into school.

  • Personally, I don't think that the "lack of education" women are getting is a reason of over population. Usually in a school, the girls are more academically driven/dominant than guys (yes studies prove this), and there is close to none of these young girls who intend on marrying/becoming a mom at an early age. Therefore, I don't feel that there is a need to provide or encourage any woman to "provoke" school. I think it's pretty oblivious and rude to point fingers in the direction of women.

  • I don't think that overpopulation has anything whatsoever to do with "girls' lack of education". Do you think being uneducated correlates directly with getting pregnant? Just because a girl doesn't have access to education doesn't mean she will immediately turn to having children... that doesn't make any sense. I don't think there's any way we can really deal with overpopulation. You can't just tell people they can only have one or two children or hold mass genocides.
