Scientists may have found a ninth planet in our solar system, and this time there is no debate as to whether it can be considered a planet or not, unlike Pluto. The so called Planet X is believed to have a mass that is 10 times the earth's and 5,000 times Pluto's. It orbits about 20 times farther from the sun than Neptune does. This means that one year on the planet, is in between 10,000 and 20,000 years in our time. Because it is so big, Planet X gravitationally dominates its part of the solar system. Scientists are also convinced that the planet exists and is as big as they say it is, because it explains many previously mysterious features of the kuiper belt. Here is the link to the rest of the story.
If scientists have just found this planet, how many more other undiscovered planets do you think are out there that are relatively close to earth?
Finally, do you think that there is alien life on either this planet, or somewhere else in the universe?
My response: I can believe that there are a few more undiscovered planets in our solar system, just because our solar system is a huge place to search. We don't even have all of the deep sea discovered yet, and each year we find new species of animals. I do think that there is alien life out there somewhere because statistically, earth was formed and it is able to sustain life, so in the massive universe surely another planet has formed that can sustain life.

Well done CJ!
There are probably more planets that we haven't spotted yet for some reason, space is massive so i'm not surprised they missed something.
The only way there could be life on that planet is if they can stand freezing temps. As for other planets Maby who knows have to wait and see with advancement of technology.
This is so cool! There are probably more planets close to earth because space is massive. People always talk about aliens on the internet and I think it's just gibberish, but it's never been proven or not proven so we still have yet to see if alien life does exist.
Oh my gosh, this is such an interesting story! I think scientist will discover more and more planets throughout the years. As the years go on, technology will improve and be better so I think there will be many more! I think it's crazy about alien life but I think it may be out there.
Since space is infinite, so I absolutely think there are more planets that could be close to us. Technology is only getting better and I believe we will continue to find planets like these. I think there is most likely life somewhere else in the universe. To think that in all of space, we are the only life would be implausible.
I think that there are many things scientists don't know about the solar system, and new discoveries will be made constantly for many many years. I believe that somewhere out there there is a planet like Earth and there is life. It seems crazy that only a small portion of our huge universe could sustain life.
I agree and I hope that there are more planets out there with life that we will one day be able to discover.
I personally think that there could be several other planets that are undiscovered because, like you said, the solar system is huge. When I think about "aliens", I take into account how many galaxies there are in the universe. With so many galaxies that could contain so many planets, I feel like there's a pretty good chance that there could be life somewhere else. It's crazy to think about!
I think that if there were to be aliens on this "new planet", our lives would be changed forever. What if we can talk to them? That would be legit. Great story and very interesting. Makes me wonder.
I think they should keep researching. The universe as far as we know is endless. I think there could be aliens that'd be kinda cool lol
